12.20pm - Leboeuf sign off

Frank Leboeuf asked if Chelsea should pursue Rodrygo:

🗣 "Yes, because he’s is different class. He has some experience, he knows the top level. Comparing him to the others who came and didn’t perform for Chelsea.

“There were some unknown from the world of football, but Rodrygo is a different level and definitely a good signing but I think he would cost a lot."

If Madrid offered £120m or even £110m I would take that for Enzo. I love his shit housery against Mount but feel like he never quite passes the eye test for me. As above if we could secure Wharton for £60-70m then I’d take that all day long.

The Enzo that plays for Argentina is not the Enzo we see, the only game that comes to mind if someone says when did Enzo have a good game was, I think, against Liverpool last season at the bridge, or perhaps season before, genuinely cannot recall when I’ve thought wow what a game from him - Square pegs, round holes.

I also don’t see the hype for Rodrygo, I’d be pretty disappointed with that signing for the rumoured fee. Rather tried and tested PL like Gordon, who is rumoured to be the same amount.

You’d rather Gordon if they cost the same?

I just feel like he's the type of player to push for a move if RM go all in (he has previous).

I'm probably in the minority here, but selling Enzo for profit and bringing De Bruyne in on free (notably reduced wages, of course) while we assess our current midfield options could be a smart bit of business.

''Chelsea have no plans to sign superstar players such as Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. He is currently not a target. Rodrygo is viewed as an exceptional player but the total cost of any potential deal, including wages, is prohibitive and a move would not fit in with Chelsea’s strategy in recent transfer windows.”

In other words we are kindengarden FC and looking for kids mainly  on low wages who can loaned in Strasbourg and sold for profit like Petrovic . That's not how you make a champions team.

Fuck these clowns honestly. If Garnacho links pop up again I’m done.

They class Colwill and Jackson and Sanchez as experienced quality, and the old mantra of they are one year older.

Surround them with youth and all will be good.....bullshit, this team needs elite level players not more Jimmy Saville age kids

I'm not sure on Rodrygo, he just don't do it for me.

I rather not spend the money on him, Just buy Murillo, and a good striker and that's all we need for now.

The rest we can adjust with what we have and if we are able to sell some deadwood then we add some more, but CB and striker are priority for me.

Think it’s pretty safe to say that nobody really knows our primary transfer targets right now and won’t until this last game at the weekend. If we win and get UCL I think we’ll immediately start seeing briefings from the club about who we’re going after. The Enzo out/Rodrygo in stuff died within a day so that was clearly BS.

I bet you anything that we’ll be looking almost exclusively at PL players. Delap, João Pedro, Guehi. The club will prioritize players who can hit the ground running with little to no adaptation period.

Rodrygo is streets ahead of Gordon.

Google translate can be wonky

🇫🇷 Chelsea target Hugo Ekitike

🔹 The striker and Frankfurt agree to complete a transfer if the interests of all parties are respected.
➡️ Frankfurt wants between 80 and 100 million €

🔹 Several English clubs have approached the player and the club. Among them, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. The Blues' interest is high.

🔹 Paris Saint-Germain will have 20% of the capital gain made by the German club

Really like what I see with Ekitike from a raw talent and style standpoint. But do I see a striker who is going to be a 20+ per season scorer in the PL caliber player? Don’t think so. He looks like he’d be brilliant as an option for a top side who already has that monster #9 in place much like Jackson would be.

For 80m+ he looks like a huge risk. Especially with our recent history of buying forwards from Germany who look outstanding over there and then massively underwhelm here in the PL.

Breaking Chelsea are exploring a deal for Joao Pedro.

They held a meeting on Tuesday regarding the player.

Chelsea would be willing to offer around £50m with the possibility of other players being offered, potentially even on loan.

(Simon Jones)

Chelsea just can't do without Brighton!!!😭😭😭
