It's not strange at all. We know him. He has played for the club before. He was employed as a false 9 because he can't play anywhere else in modern football, and he's not good enough as a false 9 for a club like Chelsea. He's not a new player waiting to show his stuff; we all know his game from his performances at Chelsea, in Spain, and for Portugal. 🤷♂️ Is it really a surprise that Maresca does not seem to rate him either? Think he lacks skill -- the selfishness bit only makes it worse as it is on display when we have to defend. Still it's a team balance thing: if we had Sancho on the left, Felix on the right, and Cole in the center, we would lose a lot more than win. Just not enough people doing the defensive tasks.
