If we fail to sign an elite finisher this month our board is going to cost Maresca his job. Failing to bring one in last summer and trusting the ultimate inconsistent striker Jackson and backing him up with a completely raw 18 year old was stupid enough. Seeing the evidence match after match after match and failing to go and get one this window would be pure insanity.

We’ve seen reporters repeatedly say that we as a club NEED Champions League football revenue ASAP in order for all this spending to continue to work. If that’s the case they need to move rapidly in these next couple of weeks or we ain’t getting it.

I have zero sympathy for the outcome of games now at this club as we have dodged and skated around buying a top class forward for years, we have deserved this and what we are seeing

Jackson time after time missing big chances to kill games is a theme, it's regular and consistent like us dropping points

The club and the boards outlook is tiresome

If by some miracle we fleece Bayern for £65m, then surely it goes onto the release clause to Sporting 5 minutes after.

Can't say I can get behind someone else around that price range. Delap, great, we already have a young run into the ground type in Guiu, not comparing their ceilings but isn't it another work in progress? Just read a post about Tosin being the 'uncle' of the group.. yeah that's a bit of a stones throw from Thiago Silva as the groups older influence.

Mainoo for nkunku do you reckon?

It's been in the media before mainoo doesn't want the defensive midfield position and would rather an 8 or 10

United won't let Mainoo go, there's no way.   His agents are just trying to get him a nice payrise for the next contract.

So dumb. What we need is an immediate injection of top quality at CB. Trev is a good CB but is on the same level as Tosin. He’s no better.

Yes he is, mate. He is class and bleeds blue. I don't know how we sent him on loan after last season. He was disrespected and frozen out for half of the season. Came back and we went from 10th to 6th and lost only one game. He is no Van Dijk, but he is the best option available on the market.

Chelsea have activated clause to recall Trevoh Chalobah from Crystal Palace with immediate effect.

Decision made by Enzo Maresca and the club’s management after many injuries with some defenders also set to leave.

(Fabrizio Romano)

So, this Chalobah’s news simply means there is zero chance of Marc Guehi’s deal happening this January.

No chance.

There’s a reason myself and plenty of others weren’t too bothered by us letting Trev go. Again, he’s a decent CB but is not good enough as a regular starter for a club with UCL ambitions. Have people forgotten his limitations and why we were fine letting him leave? His forward passing range is pretty nonexistent, he panicked often with the ball when pressed, and most annoyingly he would get caught sleeping or out of position leading to awful goals.

Will he have some solid games for us when he returns? Sure. But so does Tosin. I think a club like Palace was Trev’s level. He’s a midtable kind of CB.

He isn't perfect but for a board that cut corners and don't actually deal correctly with what is needed it's the perfect situation for Chalobah, us and the board and I can stand by this if we actually go and buy a striker, a proper striker I mean.

What you will get with Trev is a bit of heart and throw himself in the way of things, the treatment of him was pathetic and good on him for agreeing to come back and shot straight back into it, I want fight and desire you will get that with him.

If it keeps Disasi and Tosin at arms length I'm all for it

I don't agree with that at all.

he's nothing like any of our central defenders and he can play right-back.
he's better than didasi and badiashile

with the possibility of fofana getting injured, which has been confirmed, he gives more guarantees than the others.
