He seems good - that's why so many clubs are lining up to strike a deal for him and we are turning a nice profit out of it.

Feel Maresca could have used him better - especially when we had injuries at CB and Cucu was suspended for a game. Seems like an off-field issue.

This all just reflects so poorly on whoever was in charge of recruitment this past summer. Our good form up until Christmas time was sort of masking just how poor that window was and now that we have been poor it’s being brought into more focus.

-KDH has been a disaster of a buy.

-Veiga looked promising but clearly doesnt’ have Maresca’s confidence so barely plays

-did that utterly absurd deal with Villa where we bought some kid that never had a prayer of ever wearing a Chelsea shirt

-spent a very good chunk of change on Felix (who I still love as a player) and Maresca has barely played him

-refused to buy the striker that everyone in all of world football knew we badly needed and thought it was wise to gamble our entire season on Jackson suddenly becoming super clinical

I think both Neto and Sancho have been solid and Tosin is a decent enough squad player. But other than that, what a shit show. We need to go for some experienced, finished article players of proven quality over these next windows. Enough trying to be the smartest guy in the room and searching for the next gem that’s cheap and then explodes into a star.

We are a couple of key pieces away from being a serious team. World class finisher, top CB. Stop messing about with bang average guys who you can see from a million miles away aren’t Chelsea quality.

Yep, we are bearing the fruits of the previous windows where we got Caicedo, Enzo, Cucu etc. But it's time to get serious and push for quality players again instead of penny-pinching random backup players - Jorgensen, Tosin, Felix, Kellyman, KDH and Caleb Wiley.

Just go out and get the monster GK, CB and striker that elevates this squad. And maybe concentrate on couple of backups who would be willing to give everything for the club despite being in a squad role.

But no, the club is looking at a 22-year-old winger who plays in the Spanish second division. Make it make sense!

Pat Nevin: “I would not be surprised if Chelsea made a huge bid for Alexander Isak this January if they get any sort of hint that he is available."

Most complete striker in the league. But unlikely - our chance was in the summer when Newcastle were looking to resolve PSR issues and considered bids for him, Gordon. They ended up selling Elliot Anderson to Forest (who's having a really good season for them).

Now I imagine other clubs will be in the hunt for him - there's rumors of Barcelona, Arsenal interest too

🗣️ Alan Shearer: "Other than possibly Chelsea, I genuinely don’t think that anybody could afford to buy Alexander Isak; because of the way that the rules are structured with PSR, I don’t think that anybody could afford him."

I don't see any monster GK's available in the market.   Feel like Penders is the long term GK option, depending upon how well he develops on loan.

Veiga is off to Dortmund by the looks of it.

Seems weird unless we're getting a new player in?     At least Veiga can cover midfield, LB.

Wondering if this means Ugo is coming back from Southampton as cover or Chalobah returns from Palace?

The way Glasner spoke yesterday he didn't sound too confident that Chalobah was staying

🚨 BREAKING: Renato Veiga is likely to leave Chelsea in January with a number of Premier League, Italian and French clubs looking to sign him.

Chelsea have set an asking price of up to £29million and will also request a sell-on clause to be included.

unless you put up LEGIT, documented sources on this all, I am calling serious bullshit

absolutely

Sources are not documented for obvious reasons.  There was only one mention of veiga and noni being punished in the media

I just laugh every time I see anyone linking us with Isak. As if Newcastle will allow their best player and the guy who is in dominant form walk halfway through the season when they’re in red hot form and neck and neck with us in the race for top 4.

Shit, I highly doubt he himself would even say yes to us right now even if we did come up with a £120m offer. If he carries on like this for the remainder of the season he can sit back and wait for a whole host of top clubs to come for him. He can bide his time and see who is in the UCL places before deciding.

The time to get him was last summer when we were heavily linked. We almost surely could’ve gotten him for well under £100m. Now after the season he’s having they’ll rightly demand a new PL record fee. If midfielders like Rice and Caicedo went for about £100m then a match winning, top class striker who can get you 20 PL goals a season will probably cost £120m+.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, are we sure Newcastle have paid for Hall & Tino (sell on percentage)?

If not, I'd imagine a good chunk off any potential deal would work in our favour unlike any other club. Newcastle leaving themselves without CF (Wilson has been a non-entity) would be unlikely, though.

Just now, Mário César said:

And why isak would leave newcastle to join us at the middle of the season?

A better chance of winning silverware.

the hall situation hurts a bit, but some context is needed. (such as the livramento situation)

Hall is starting to play well now, but if he was at Chelsea he would be covered by Cucurella, who is playing well this season.

the hall grew due to the time of the game. I would never have had that playing time here at Chelsea.

When he was loaned with a mandatory purchase option, Maresca was not yet the coach and it made sense to keep Chilwell and Cucurella.

Hall would never have time to reach that level at Chelsea.

the situation of livramento is similar. when it was sold we had the gusto and the reece. we were well served. The problem is that at the time no one expected that Reece would be hurt all the time
