🔵Simon Phillips reports today:

"The opinion expressed from the outside that the club still lacks a top goalkeeper and a top central defender to win the Premier League is
not shared internally.,,

I askedmy main source about the
reports of new
goalkeeper links being cut
and his response was:

'No comment. We are in the
goalkeeping market, I can
guaranteeyou that

Another top source also said:
'We are 100% looking for new
goalkeepers.🙌🤩💙

Again, this is 100% correct from our sources.

The core is together, but
Chelsea will always look for ways to
improvewhat they have if they feel they can, and if opportunities like a
Davies, for example, arise, they will be there. They are alwayslooking to improvein the market and a new
goalkeeper, a central defender and a
striker are the priority positions
being looked at at the moment.

According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic

Chelsea are monitoring
Bayern Munich left-back

Alphonso Davies

Simon says This is also 100% true. Chelsea would love to get Davies if the
opportunity presents itself and have been sounding out the market
for the left-back. He is a player they
would love to get.

💬Chelsea will listen to transfer offers in January for Players effort.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is willing to let fringe players Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi and Cesare Casadei leave the club on loan or Permanently in the upcoming January transfer window.🗯

‼️Feyenoord have tabled an undisclosed offer to Chelsea for Cesare Casadei, who prefers to return to Italy.

So far, Fiorentina and Lazio would like to negotiate Chelsea’s €20m asking price down to €10m-€12m.

I still would like another striker.

Jackson needs some good competition.

What a pity about we didn't get Duran. A player many here where against but the boy has improved big time this season.

Either Duran or Samu would have been good additions to the squad to compete with NJ but this thread was filled with endless pages of people raging about either

There were like 3 supporters of Duran. All of us are on this last page.

Just about everyone else was saying oh great, another young project striker.

Samu was an unknown quantity that we were linked with for stupid money (ended up joining Porto for peanuts). Duran, on the other hand, showed signs late last season that he could be an interesting get. However, he still isn't a cert starter for Villa, which raises its own questions.

I believe we were even linked to him during his time in the MLS, so our interest has been there for some time.

I don’t think people realise the managerial issue of continuity and sometimes even if a player might be better you can’t just pop him into a team that’s performing well.

By every metric Villa have been crushing it lately by getting into CL and now having a pretty decent follow up season all things considered.

Take into account Watkins having a historically great striker season for their club. Like all time level great, even if he dips in form, you let a player like that work out of it given your recent successes.

I don’t think Duran not starting is any reflection of him, but more so of keeping the team success at Villa going.

Can you imagine this current team with the Thiago Silva of a couple of years ago next to Colwill? The title challenge would be real.

For me, that’s still something we need to at least consider in January. An experienced, high quality, on-pitch general type CB. Someone with a personality like Thiago Silva, VVD etc who you see barking orders and organizing the entire team from the back. We get that and I think it masks the potential for many of those sketchy Sanchez blunders.

Who’s out there that fits the bill and would they be possible in January, I have no clue.
