Assuming our guesses are right it's the pressure of the player wanting, Indeed needing to, play which makes sense of Chelsea's stance. If the player is so fixed on the hypothetical move we're talking about that he'd be willing to twiddle his thumbs for two seasons then Chelsea's position would be pointless.

If the latter occurs, his advisors' counsel will appear to be dumb. The prospect of squandering your formative years betting on "a mystery club" and hoping they are still interested in two seasons.

We've created the most chances in the league and have 1 less goal in being tied with most goals scored. All this with Enzo phased out. 

Tchouameni is on £200kpw and for that reason I can't see this signing happening. I think Andrey Santos should replace Enzo if he continues this trajectory.
