I think Sterling would do very, very well under Arteta at Arse. I don’t think he’d be any better at United than he was for us which was bang average. United’s attacking play and style I just don’t think will suit him as well.

So hopefully if he goes tomorrow it’s to United. If he goes to Arse and looks like his City self again we’d never hear the end of it.

I guess? What else could explain it? We’re absolutely loaded in that area of the pitch and will be even more so a year from now.

If we indeed push for the deal tomorrow the club must think that a change of scenery back to London will unlock his top form again and we’d have an £80m+ caliber player on our hands for cheap.

Or we wind up with someone on relatively high wages who we have difficulty trying to shift in a year or two, just as United have discovered.

It's concerning that this deal appears to be significantly more likely to go through in the coming hours than Osimhen.

Yep. It’s puzzling for sure. I’ve seen conflicting reports that his wages are even more insane than Sterling’s. So unless he’s halving his current wages this just seems even dumber. Say what you want about Sterling when he’s on the pitch but he seems like a good professional. Sancho on the other hand has been a bit of a cancer at United.

The bolded is something that really puts me off him

The club will surely be doing their due diligence I hope. He seemed to clash with Ten Hag really early on so maybe they’ll be thinking it’s just something really personal between them and it won’t be an issue here? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Is this the same board who thought selling assets who help with our books?

I don't expect anything smart or well thought out where they are concerned.

When I heard Hermoso was a free agent a number of weeks ago, I thought he'd be a perfect signing for a few years. I'm just unsure this board will even give players 28+ a look.

A really stupid mindset.

Yes. Mario Hermoso on a free?

Talk about a no brainer.

He has 3, 4 or so good seasons left. He just turned 29 two months ago.

And would not demand crazy wages.

Plus a real leader type with loads of experience and has been drilled for years in junkyard dog defence by bossman Simeone for half a decade now.
