There's a reason why Arsenal were more than happy to offload them (Aubameyang being a bad influence on the younger players and Lacazette couldn't even get to 5 goals in the 21/22 PL season). There should be decent experienced strikers available within the Premier League. I think Lacazette's issue was more to do with how Arsenal were set up. Jesus has exactly lit things up over there with talk of another CF being a high priority for them. A few people mentioned Mitrovic, who was a decent shout before going abroad. Another name that came to mind was Awoniyi, but there are a number of issues that would likely work against the idea (AFCON being a major one). Thor 2,716
I'd prefer to stick with Jackson. I don't think Victor is much if any better coming into the PL. Plays in a weaker league - and Jackson aside from VO's amazing season last season was scoring at a similar/same rate while playing in a better league. Why not give a young player a go in a season where we will more than likely finish between 5-10th anyway? He is 22 - always getting in the right positions, works hard, does great things everywhere on the pitch bar finishing. He is great at carrying the ball for us when he drops a little deeper. He literally tries to pass the ball into the goal at this point because his confidence is low. Let him cook a little. Yes it helps the team at times but the amount of times he does this when it is unnecessary is also frustrating because when the play advances he is miles behind it and not in the box. There are things for him to learn as a young CF in particular like holding the ball up, finishing and doing some simpler things as well as being offside a lot and picking up unnecessary bookings for dissent but there is no way he is a better bet than Victor Oshimen. He needs a more experienced player to learn from and we need a more proven player to carry the goalscoring burden. Nkunku may do this as a 10 but he isn’t a striker and folk going on about the Cole Palmer false 9 thing are off their heads. I can’t see Oshimen coming here anyway, would be a crazy move from him to do so considering he is just about to go into the best period of his career. He’s been looking to leave (even the new contract only extends by a year and has a reasonable release fee). i don’t see many clubs coming close to the release fee. City, PSG, Bayern and Newcastle don’t need a striker. Madrid is holding out for Kylian. Only Barca and Arsenal could give competition and I doubt there’s been any interest reported so far LAM09

DH1988 1,348
I couldn't for one minute believe the board would sell Conor to Spurs, I'd go along with wasting their time through the window so they don't strengthen.

Why wouldn't they? They sold Jorginho and Havertz to Arsenal. Once they smell a profit, it doesn't take much to get them going. Selling Cobham products is pure profit. Magic Lamps 11,692
Personally I would not sell Gallagher , he is plays like a true blue. But if it economically necessary please ask more than 40m. This season he has made a step up and this should be reflected in the valuation. anyway, I have heard from a friend who is close to Dortmund that Maatsen has held talks with them. They are likely to come around with an offer of around 20m euros - half of what we were offered in summer when the fraud declined
DH1988 1,348
Crazy that we will get half of what Burnley bid for Maatsen. What a shame. Wouldn't have an issue selling him within the EPL, Conor however, different story entirely.
LAM09 7,056
We're going to have to come to terms that someone who's a regular will be sold to balance the book along with a few prospects. If Hall's move isn't set in stone, this will happen sooner than we'd hope.

bluesman2610 1,417
I saw that inter in financial distress. Selling Brozovic and Onana saved them at the beginning of season but need to file for bankruptcy.

Were there that many people wanting Felix signed? I admit that I've spent less time on Chelsea fan sites this year than any year in the last quarter century, but my recollection is that the majority of people had agreed that Felix was not the right player to target. I wonder if there are any Blues' fans who would write a cheque to Atleti for Felix now.
