Pizy 19,253
Unless Caicedo goes the nuclear route and refuses to turn up to training I just don’t see the incentive for Brighton to budge. And he doesn’t seem like the type to kick up a fuss. Vesper

Special Juan 28,730
Brighton kept him in January with an agreement to sell him in the summer. There hard balling is pissing off us and Caicedo himself, the next step is Caicedo to press the bomb button

They wouldn't want to create a situation of keeping an unhappy player and going back on their word as that would hurt them in the future with other young players who see Brighton as a good stepping stone for their development. Brighton are just holding out because they just saw West Ham get around 100 million for Rice. We should do what United did and ask for a face to face meeting, put our final offer on the table and if they reject it, we gotta move on for alternatives. Mhsc 1,139
Brighton's whole "sell" to players is that they are the stepping stone club who will grow you and facilitate the move to the Big Time™, they will have to sell at a reasonable offer or jeopardise their entire project and the spirit in the squad for next year. They'll cave if we stick it out. It is just a shame it will come at the expense of a fuller preseason with Caicedo, but there's no way that training time is worth us paying millions extra (and definitely not tens of millions extra). I still think (as others here) it will get done at around the £80m mark, either 75+5 or 80+5 worst case.
KEVINAA 129
Chelsea Academy, Blues are now closing in on deal to sign Newcastle midfielder Ollie Harrison. Harrison will turn 16 in May and he’s on the verge of leaving #NUFC. Chelsea are ahead of Brighton and Wolves in race to sign Ollie.
Vesper 31,046
Think we do not not need a CB? https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/Chelsea-take-29-man-squad-to-the-usa Wesley Fofana has also not travelled due to a knee injury, which is currently being assessed. Marcus Bettinelli, Benoit Badiashile and Armando Broja will too remain at Cobham as they continue their respective recoveries from injury.
Pizy 19,253
So Ornstein says that we’ve already sent in a bid yesterday of £70m fixed with no add-ons whereas all the others are saying that we will be sending a bid in of over £70m fixed with add-ons at some point this week. At least we’re actually putting money on the table now instead of just talking. But we surely knew £70m wasn’t going to move Brighton. Don’t want to risk pissing them off and offering him to one of our rivals instead. Feels a bit like the Enzo saga where Caicedo really seems to want to come to Chelsea but we have to kinda be delicate with Brighton for fear of angering them. But we HAVE to push this through this week before more clubs join in and start a bidding war.

I can see us going to £80-85m but hopefully we go nowhere near £100m. Norfolkblue1961
chelsea_4_eva 1,186
Just need to stick to our guns and not go past the £80M mark. I feel that price is more than fair and it seems like Caicedo's camp also feel the same way. Brighton cannot afford to go back on their word and create that sort of image for their club, as it could effect players decisions going forward. mkh
Gundalf 806
Yes I feel like 80m is a middleground where all parties can be satisfied. Vesper
King Kante 1,643
I don't see him as worth £80m. He had one decent season in a year where the league got spilt into two due to the WC. Personally, I think we should just move on. We're getting bent over. Vegetable

Vesper 31,046
We are insane if we sell Colwill unless (and this is simply not happening from all I can see) we have Gvardiol on the books. Only other left footed CB who is at a truly acceptable level as Levi's potential AND is remotely available is Bastoni.
