Much like Benfica, Sporting are another Portuguese club that are excellent at developing young players. We should be doing everything in our power to send them Andrey Santos on loan as part of any deal for Ugarte. Him developing at a big club and in a country where he speaks the language could be brilliant.

Why would Sporting develop our player for us?    They get zero benefit out of that.   They'd rather send their scouts back to South America and find the next gem for peanuts, give them 1-2 seasons to develop and cash in for 40, 50 million.

I mean, they’d get an excellent young player that could help their team for a season without spending a single Euro? That’s pretty valuable.

Sporting are freaking out as they finished outside of the top 3 (The Big 3, Benfica, Porto, Sporting, who have between them won EVERY Primera Liga title in history except for twice: Belenenses ( 1945–46 ) and Boavista ( 2000–01 ). They will grab any talent they can. Braga pipped them for 3rd.

Btw, Boavista is the Portuguese club I wanted us to buy as part of our new multi-club system, but it looks like it will be Rio Ave.

In France I wanted us to buy Bourdeaux,  but it will be Strasbourg more than likely.
