It appears the ONLY way they will accept is if we pay all the money at once. No “payment structure,” no installments.

Than wtf are we negotiating for days and nights? It's weird. Don't know what to think.

Exactly. Which is again why I think Rui Costa is doing this to intentionally fuck with us. String us along and make us think they’re negotiating in good faith and then refuse in the end.

I mean seriously, how can they turn down £100m+ for a player who they bought for peanuts less than a year ago? What kind of business person does that? A player who has told him he WANTS to go!

Find it hilarious, we are told Record is a complete rag yet when they post something like 'he could stay' people believe it

🤣

I think Rui Costa is just trying to squeeze every last penny out of Chelsea. Only 5 minutes before the cut-off point for getting the deal done in time does he have to make a definitive decision, so he's just waiting to see if Chelsea will sweeten the deal even further. This bloke is good.

This bastard Rui Costa is digging his heels in and fucking with us.

Can you blame him? He's seen Chelsea spend like €500M already this season so clearly money doesn't seem to be a problem for the club. Costa rightfully feels he can demand whatever he wants and is going to see if we'll budge.

Of course it's still possible that even if our board stay firm and don't change the payment terms on offer then Costa will eventually cave in with a couple hours left in the window because after all it's a shit load of money no matter what the payment terms.

Right now it's all a big game of poker to see who's bluffing. One possibility is that nobody's bluffing and if the offer stays the same till the end the move just won't be done.

But really how negotiations look like 😂

TB: Mr. Costa we can offer 6 instalments x20m?

RC: No.

TB: How about 4 instalments x30m?

RC: No, no...

Todd should put livecam and charge Chelsea fans to watch it. Would get us money for Enzo.

Exactly this. If we become that desperate to do the deal we'll activate the clause.

Even better payment terms and more money up front from here on in will be wins for the bloke and Benfica.

I think there's a lot of twists and turns today and people just need to stay calm. Unless we think we've got a genuine shout at the Champions League this season, no move is going to make or break things this year. If we get Enzo in now then great, it's another massive part of the rebuild. If it doesn't happen now, then hopefully we'll be laying some ground work for the summer.

Benfica have reportedly travelled for their game tonight without him so that's one positive to take to encourage that a deal is very much still achievable.

Yep Boehly & co have set a precedent, particularly with the Mudryck deal I feel.

People saying “why keep the player he wants to go”, “they wont get this money again”, “their making a huge profit if they sell for price X, Y or Z” they don’t realise Benfica is Rui Costa’s first priority, not Enzo Fernandez or not Chelsea. But arrogance is bliss and people think because we’ve offered what we perceive as a good deal they should accept it blindly. As is always the case here and in particular has been with this whole Enzo Fernandez saga 😂
