The latest talk was about €25m, so about £20m. We would get €8m back for Alonso, so effectively its £14m.

That's just his fee. Add the cost of his wage (£200k~) on probably a three-year contract and you tell me if that makes sense financially.

We need to stop throwing money down the drain.

Idk, maybe Im just too desperate to get Alonso out the club 😅

Also, we need a striker, and there isnt really one out there that would make sense financially and would suit long term. I dont see it.

What do you think we should do? And don't say broja! Because he isn't up to leading our line.

I'm with you on the Alonso front, but there surely has to be another way. Take FDJ off their hands, if they're so desperate to sign the former.

Danjuma would tick a number of those boxes tbh.

A quick fix - Muriel or Ronaldo (if it's for no longer than a year).

Long term options - Danjuma or the last remaining quality CF that's obtainable, Osimhen.

A quick fix would be just as of a a waste of money as well Ronaldo will cost us more in a year that probs auba in 2 lol.

Gladly, hes one of my dream signings, and Tuchels too ig, but he just doesn't wanna leave Barca, he will stay unfortunately, no matter what.

fofana is the new rice.

Difference here is that Leicester desperately need the cash AND the player has expressed desire to leave. Wet Spam have this deluded ambition to break into the top 6 and throw lots of money around to try to realize that ambition.

At least we have a chance at signing Fofana whereas Rice is never going to happen until the final year of his contract.

We wouldn't need to worry about productivity with the former. Just look at what he did with a dire side last season.

For reasons that can't be explained.

Broja hasn't even had a chance to lead our line yet, how can you say that?

If our only options are Auba and Ronaldo, I say we stick with what we have until a suitable long-term option becomes available. Both are past it egotistic toxic players who would cost a lot of money. Rotate Havertz, Broja and Sterling in that position, use a fluid attack where there is no out-and-out striker unless Broja is playing. Let the whole team chip in with goals like they have been doing for a while now ever since Diego Costa left. We won the CL this way. Of course it would be better to have a striker that actually performs and fits the team, but I don't think they are it.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind either IF they wouldn't demand high salaries, would join on loan or for a short time, would accept not being automatic starters and wouldn't cause any trouble if benched or if we're going through a tough time.

Maybe you are right, but I really don't think we need that sort of ego around, also highly doubt TT does either.

2 reason really

1- the manager sees this lad day in and day out in training, he's our only true number 9 and he gets mere minutes. When he has finally got on the pitch he's been dressed as a ghost or he's just invisible.

2- he's too young no CL or EL experience at all no big game experience, not to mention the fact he's shown nothing to suggest that he can lead the line from his loan spells.

If we really want to even have a sniff at man city, we need a world class number 9 and a world class midfielder. Broja is academy so makes it a little harder to say it, but as it stands right now he isn't the right man for the job.

I'm not exactly sold on the idea myself; it's more of a last resort.

We just can't go into a full season with only Broja & Havertz to lead the line.

I totally agree and tbh with you, am not sold on auba or Ronaldo! Both bad egos both want big money... we need a striker for the future oshimen is a brilliant shout, but in all honesty who can we realistically get now at this stage. What ever we do we will piss money away regardless.

Yeah maybe a 2nd tier younger striker is the way to go atm. Like a Matheus Cunha, but he's now on united's radar - gotta act fast with young strikers. He's more like a classic 9, but also hard working.
He's not going to get you the numbers first season, but could deliver good performances and act as a backup for Kai.

At this point just hope 33yo Auba isn't being seriously considered.
