Tbh, Barca are doing us a favour. €65m for Kounde is too much. He is a decent player but he plays way too risky to be worth that.

Good, to hear that not all the academy boys' just want to jump ship. That said, Ampadu is reportedly a Chelsea fan for childhood, so his desire may be a little different to the others. I mean, has anyone seen how Rice is now in a official Chelsea video with Mount?

What happens if we miss out on Kounde and Kimpembe?

At the prices being quoted, we should be grateful. Personally, if it is €65m for Kounde or give Colwill more minutes, I would go for the Colwill option.

🚨🚨| Jules Koundé's full priority is joining FC Barcelona; the club has asked him to not accept Chelsea's offer.
@footmercato

Hmm, I am wondering if theyre basing that article on the stuff that Romero tweeted.  Those articles dont seem to be inside sourced information.

Whereas the outlets who are more Sevilla based still say its us,  If he hasnt trained this morning as reported, his move is imminent. And only one club has bid so far.. Chelsea.

Hasn't trained this morning and the only club to bid is us. Simple as that really.

The Sevilla outlets are all saying the preparations are already in place for Kounde to do his medical and go on to the US. Seville does not want to sell to Barca.

In England they announce the medical examination of Koundé and his arrival in the US in "less than 48 hours"

Now, Spanish outlet Sport has claimed that De Jong has absolutely no interest in heading to Old Trafford this summer and would rather head to Chelsea should he be pushed out of Barcelona for a move to the Premier League.

Well, despite the reservations of many here it looks like Kounde might happen. One massive consolation for the doubters is that for the first time in twenty years we can have high confidence that the players being targeted have been selected by the manager. Given that almost all of us have confidence in the manager that consolation means a lot. As a doubter myself it certainly means something to me.

There will be bounce effect here in the deal for Azpilicueta. Both deals will trigger each other, once the i's are dotted and t's crossed, it will move.

Azpi's move to Barcelona is literally done, the same for Kounde based on this morning reports.

I'd be pleased if this happens, not least because he also looks capable of performing at LWB. Can't see it but would definitely be pleased with this one.

Yeah contract until 26 sadly, Leipzig can demand an astronomical fee

I think one of the many tasks facing the new board is to train the market to understand that there is more discipline at Chelsea now about the way money is spent. That necessarily has to start with there actually being more discipline in our spending. If that means walking away from deals because the ask is too high then I'm all for it even if, as is the case with Gavridol, the player concerned is one I would love to see join Chelsea.

Cost of the deal is not the cause my doubts this deal will happen however. Gavridol's stock is high currently and I expect that, for now at least, Chelsea isn't on his list of preferred destinations.

These Barca news outlets are taking the United fans on a ride, going round in circles lol

Also you would think that Barca would use the money from levers to payback some on the money they owe to their players.. but no.. spend spend spend.. and not smart spending too..

Not really. The fee drops to 43m next summer due to the release clause kicking in. So any bid over that will at least be considered by Leipzig
