We aren't going to go big for a CF after last season, so we either stick with what we have with the addition of Broja (maybe even Michy) or make a late move (still mixed about the prospect) for Ronaldo.

I still can't get over the fact that we actually signed Lukaku and there were a few around here that believed it would work out. 🙄

This might be an outlandish thought, but going after someone like Muriel as a stopgap could be a shrewd piece of business.

I was definitely one of those who was against the return of Lukaku but when it looked certain for him to come here, I convinced myself it could work knowing full well we were signing a donkey. It's all history now though... we need to move on.

If we miss out on both I'd give Callum (3rd highest for open play key passes and big chances created ITL last season) a strong run on that side.

I think he would suit a front three involving Kai and Sterling well and him and Reece have unbelievable chemistry.

Good thing too that Callum has begun training way earlier than the rest and seems to have bulked up after sorting out his nerve/muscle issue which weirdly kept him out for months.

So the money is there...hopefully we can use it! Again this is why there was concerns early on in the window. Cause time has passed a bit now and we haven't got much further. Just talks and ohh they've gone somewhere else.

There's no surprise they are going to Barca/Bayern though. Just need to react and sign only top players if they're available. Or else go into the season with Sterling, Ake and loan returnees and revisit in January after the World Cup or next summer when this board will have had time to settle.

its a bit complicated when players want to go to bigger teams than ours

what can we do now?

MDL just like raphinha is overhyped... just read juventus forum and most of people that watch him everyweeks says that he is overrated and they aren't much mad that he can leave the club

All these dominoes falling in a way that everyone gets what they want except for Chelsea. Raphinha and Dembele at Barca, which probably means De Jong to United. De Ligt to Bayern which probably means Koulibaly to Juve.

Entering this window I felt so calm about our CB search because there were SO many high quality options out there that surely grabbing 2 would be easy for a club as big as Chelsea. Especially knowing our reputation of turning CB’s into top class players. But somehow we’re finding it impossible to get even 1 world class one through the door.

Very difficult to understand.

Bayern’s representatives are on their way to meet Juve. The first official offer for De Ligt is coming. Bayern are hoping to find an agreement soon, Juve aren't willing to sell below €90m.

If another attacker that we fancy isn’t available, why not go big right now and get a head start on the midfield rebuild this summer rather than next? Throw £100m right now at Dortmund for Bellingham and see what they say. Dortmund have already signed like 8 players this summer so it’s not like they couldn’t scout and sign a replacement. They’re experts at it.

Same thing with Rice. Throw a big pot of cash + a player like RLC or Broja and see what they say.

There’s going to be a bidding war of at least 6 clubs for Bellingham next summer (City, Liverpool, United, Real Madrid, Bayern, and ourselves) but none are in a position to do so now. So while we have this huge war chest to spend, why not try now before the competition can move?

Am not sad about missing out on any 1 from the serie A. Lukakuu was a world beater in that league, trash here. Tomori looked average on his best days here goes over there and looks world class. Alonsos been ok jorgi is torture to watch, Emerson no comment. Bakayoko even looked good on that league.

Another sensible post...

The way and manner posters here overrate De Ligt you will think he is the second coming of Maldini...

Look around Juventus forum to see how overrated Juv fans know he is..
