Spend no more than a couple of hours off the forum to see two new pages of comments in here, expecting something interesting only to see some baseless conspiracy theories about Ziyech and Hakimi being talked about as if they're true, and the window being written off already with the usual witch-hunt of Marina because we haven't brought anyone yet.

I enjoy this forum but it is bloody hard work at times.

Sounds like you and a few others are in complete denial over Chelsea being seriously interested in Hakimi by pretending there was no bid, there is enough proof to show our interest is very serious, the reason you never saw us officially make a bid is because Marina knows Hakimi doesn't want to come here, it's called saving face by pretending we weren't that interested, it's a strategy that every club is doing.

It's fairly obvious no player can decide so fast between 2 top clubs with the media being overly confident Hakimi prefers PSG over us in such a short period of time unless Ziyech told him bad stuff about us and he made up his mind, people can believe what they want but it doesn't take a genius to connect 1+1 rumours about Ziyech wanting to leave and Hakimi not wanting to come here.

First thing you do when a top club is interested is talk to someone close you know, there is no better person to ask than your countryman. I saw an example above about Luiz and Thiago but I highly doubt Luiz disliked the club, he just had a beef with Frank and left, if Thiago asked him about us, Luiz probably only had good things to say about Chelsea football club, this is a player that came, left and after came back.

This is why people should never have high hopes for a transfer to begin with, especially when no one has said anything about us being in at an advanced stage etc. Otherwise, people will just end up disappointed, left cursing others and heck, even resorting to conspiracy theories!

Maybe this Hakimi transfer was never really on for us anyway, particularly when you consider the price Inter want. If this club didn't want to pay 60-70 million for Van Dijk, then it's no surprise if the club are reluctant to spend that kind of money on a defender.

And regardless of whether we just won the Champions League, are on the up etc, we have no god's given right to just expect players will choose us over others (PSG or not).

Probably he agent trying to get one last payday from Bayern

Possibly but then again, Bayern would be aware of his age and they won't go OTT when it comes to paying wages. It's a reason why Alaba ended up leaving.

I wonder where are we with the whole Haaland thing. Last we heard is the club are exploring options to sign him and that was like 2 weeks ago. Nothing reliable since then. Are things progressing, but slowly and may or may not come to anything or nothing has happened or nothing will happen? Would be nice to know where we are with the striker search...

In the US teams are replacing 90K seat stadiums with 50 to 60k stadiums. The upkeep and amount of people needed for massive stadiums is not profitable and the parking and traffic after a game is paralyzing. The profits today are TV revenue. Also the local blackout of the game if the stadium does not fill angers local fans.

Keep it small/medium

Interesting info. Thank you.

I wonder if this also applies to the Cowboys?

If we get to the point where some of our rivals are signing players left and right I’d start to get annoyed. But everyone else is quiet just like we are. Even moves we know with like 99% certainty like Sancho to United are dragging on.

Teams that need huge investment and lots of overhaul like Arse aren’t doing anything yet. Don’t think anything significant for any English club is happening during the Euro’s.
