From  Drinkwater, Bakayoko , Baba , Barkley , Zappacosta

to    Werner , Ziyech , Havertz , Chillwell , Thiago Silva and new GK . Insane

That's a mad transfer window if they all join...might be one of the best we have ever done?

Maybe from the first lot you posted the club have actually learnt a few lessons here. Not just in shit player recruitment but also last minute panic buys.

I just find it weird that any negotiations are going on with Silva just two days before his most important game in a career.

That's why I did not believe Daily Mail story about Florence.

Apparently he had even found a house. I mean the BS that is reported by these 'journalists"

Best video of Ed Mendy I found so far. He looks very athletic and proactive coming out of his goal with good timing. He has crazy long arms and hands. When he just stands he can move hand and wrist above the crossbar. Looks weird but this is why doesnt usually make saves with outstretched arms like a normal goalkeeper. The big downside I see is that he parries most shots right back into the danger area like courtois did at atletico.

Sorry for my limited knowledge but who is Edouard Mendy?

In terms of pace, imagine having Silva and Alonso in the back 4 while trying to play a high defensive line...

From most of what I've seen Silva plays as the right sided CB so thankfully we wouldn't have to see that.

Maybe but doesn't matter in the bigger picture. If we're trying to play the high line with those 2, then we better make sure our pressing game is spot on. Otherwise, we better drop back or risk getting picked apart by simple long balls over the top, similar to what we saw in the FA Cup final.

Everyone's worried about pace but our bigger issue is getting ripped apart from corners and set pieces. Central defenders being slow isn't a massive issue. Some of the best there have ever been weren't known for their pace. Hopefully we'll have a fit kante all season and fast fullbacks so it shouldn't be a problem
