Aesthetic Relic 301
Well done to the lad. If he does get a call up its make or break for us. If we intend to keep him we have to start playing him or he'll be off elsewhere.
Laylabelle 9,539
Good for him!Now when he comes back from loan lets get him playing cause if he does play in that game,Wenger prob come along in his Wenger bus and take him away. And be a case of 'o why did we let him go?!' .Cee 50
Great for him and hopefully this will increase his chances of playing in the first team. With us and not on loan again, that is.

chrismada9 1,948
This is a good thing for Mancienne! I didn't even know he was playing for Wolves!!
warnie_666 1,081
I would say sell Ferriera and get Mancienne back. Its high fucking time. I would be majorly pissed if we let him leave. Also, Ivanovic dint impress me much today. Lacks pace, struggled today, lacks positioning(burnley goal), I dont think he would be any better than Mancienne if not bad, then why keep him?. Lets cash on him and get Mancienne back. BlueLion. 21,491
I disagree, in the two PL games he has started, against Villa and West Brom, I think he has looked brilliant, actually.
terry26 6
i agree - i think that he's coped well in the games that he's played in regards to the England call up - after Theo Walcott are people really going nuts over the fact that he hasn't made a Prem League debut (at least people have seen him playing) i hope he gets some game time and does well
Kez 2,727
Michael Mancienne has voiced his determination to one day break into the Chelsea first team. Mancienne, who is currently on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, has been named in Fabio Capello's 23-man England squad to face Germany on Wednesday. The 20-year-old has made just three Championship starts for Wolves this season and was handed the surprise call-up ahead of a number of Premier League defenders. Mancienne has yet to feature for his parent club Chelsea but is determined to return to Stamford Bridge in the future and emerge as a regular. He said in The Sun: "Long-term I would like to go back there, because I have been with the club since I was a kid. "I am at Wolves until the end of December and I don't know if the loan will be extended." He added: "I want to make headlines because that shows I'm doing well. "To go from Chelsea reserves to the top of the Championship with Wolves and to England is a massive thrill. "I am thriving on the pressure playing first-team football brings and this is only inspiring me to work harder because these are just the first steps." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_4510350,00.html Good news good to see the lad wont leave without a fight Edited November 17, 2008 by Kez
EskWeston 696
As far as i can see there are 2 options with us regarding Mancienne, as there was a lot of interest in Ivanovic over the summer if we can make a profit on him then we let him go and bring Mancienne in or come the January transfer window when Mancienne is back from his loan, we loan him to a premier league club - the latter is exactly what i think will happen, if we can do that and he gets regular first team football in the premier league then that will suit both Chelsea and Mancienne i think. The Championship is not where he needs to be now.
alexandre 0
He more look like rio or carvalho style than terry he said maybe he will be another Chelsea legend (with Chelsea since 8 years)

The last thing we want is for his agent (if he has one) to start putting ideas into his head now that he is starting to get the recognition. His current one has less than 2 years until it expires. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...sea/6937352.stm

EskWeston 696
Bruce Buck has come out and said he expects Mancienne to be part of the first team soon. All well and good saying that, but it has to happen. It's not as if Mancienne has just dropped out of no-where! Mancienne has looked like making it the way he has for years. We should never have brought in Ivanovic and brought Mancienne into the squad this summer. This is where we still have not got it right with our young stars - our academy is at a very high standard now and our reserve team is full of extremely talented young footballers and now we need to give them their chances with the first team to see if they can cut it - it is the only way to know. It's not just Mancienne. It's Cork, Bertrand, Stoch, Sahar - not to mention Sinclair and Di Santo all knocking on the door to get their chance and show what they can do and prove they are good enough for our first team. Aesthetic Relic 301
We seem to be the only team that dont give youngsters a true chance to break through. Its something we have to think about. It will put off others coming to Chelsea. JT is the only one I can think of who has been given a chance (Maybe Jody Morris) to get a run in the first team before establishing themselves over the last 10 years or so. There has to be a reason for this. Are the current crop not good enough in the clubs eyes or are we playing it safe with already proven players?
