Throws the players and managers mind off the task at hand. And the media will definitely flood the prematch conferences with it too more so than the matches or what they mean. Every non-SL team will relish beating us to rub our noses in it. As @Magic Lamps said why the fuck announce it now. Why not wait until the season is done.
