Havertz as a CAM can be as effective as a 442 given he works best close to a striker. Anyway we haven't seen yet the 2 players for whom the club breaks its piggy. They are not good but you still prefer they play one of the most important game of the season. I' dont believe players who've been so poor than the two germans showed us recently, may be raised from the dead by playing big games, these guys need time, not pression and if they weren't called Werner and Havertz and did'nt coast so much money you'd be the first to want them to be on the bench. We saw it coming. Arsenal fans and others didn't seem to. For some reason.. I dont expect much from this tbh but if we can at least have a shot before the last 80. Least aim for a win. Arsenal was like we just turned up and was taken by surprise.

Also, virtually everyone has been gash. A change is needed. Havertz as a CAM can be as effective as a 442 given he works best close to a striker. We did play a variation of 442 in our season opener with RLC in the Havertz position killer1257

I’d like us to play our two biggest players in their strongest positions? How’s this hard to grasp? Or should we still persist with the same tactical nonsense we’ve seen the past 6 games? Special Juan 28,164
We can start with the same formation or different, it won't matter fuck all if the attitude is still the same shite as we have seen for weeks. If we are to get anything out of this game the first thing on the team sheet is desire. Simplymo and Laylabelle

Our 2 most expensive players, we are not in a virtual game, you seem to forget it's on the piotch and not in tha amount of your transfert, footballers must demonstrate they are the "bigger players". And this excuse of position can't explain their mediocrity, too easy.

Here’s an idea, if it’s not working, change it. God forbid we see Werner on the wing and our most expensive signing ever not utilized at all. All more evidence Lampard doesn’t have a clue. Magic Lamps 11,692
My feeling is, this game will be different to our last 5. We are gonna have more space, create lots of chances but as usual fail to make the most of them and probably end up with a close loss despite an overall more than decent performance. Not sure if that is tolerable. We can not realistically expect to win vs such a superior side but stranger things have happened.

As good as 3 points is, performance to me is more important than the result. We need to see some signs of progression and a tactical aptitude from Lampard. Special Juan 28,164
Let me tell you, if Havertz starts this on the bench then it's a bigger issue than people think other than Havertz fitness, it will be clear there is an issue with him and FL. Personally, from what I have seen since he arrived I think he's a fucking lazy twat.

He just has not the inner urge to do so all game. also he obviously is low on confidence. People also underestimate what Covid can do to your body. A colleague of mine used to be fit as the butcher's dog, contracted void and is all but a shadow now. Lost serious muscle mass and can not run on a treadmill for even a few minutes. I hope Lamp 'll change his system, i don't believe in yours but if he decided to play as you 'd like and we loose because Werner and Havertz are still shit, at least it would put an end to this wrong diagnosis, they don't struggle because their positions on the sheet game.. Regardind Lamp, i can't disagree with you, he's an emblematic character but a poor manager.

Pizy 18,976
The thought of Sterling sprinting at Azpi and De Bruyne playing easy diagonals between Zouma and Azpi is comforting before bed tonight. 😬😬😬 Really, the only positives I can think of are that City have been super inconsistent this season as well. And they may be missing some key players due to COVID. But who am I kidding, whenever opponents are missing key players they've still battered us in recent weeks. Every time, there's 'Azpi will struggle against X, Y, Z' bla bla bla but every time, he dealt with whatever threat well enough that there's no problem from his side. DANILA 290
We lost against an Arsenal C team, don't see how them being 3 starters out changes much. Won't get too many chances IMO and when we do it'll end up with a pass to the full backs for a cross and pray
