Both played defensive, we tried to play but not too much, spurs on the other hand pretty much play Mourinho away 0-0 playbook. Both of their dm screened our winger quite well,So our best way to attack was crossing from fb, and ziyech drop deeper or middle getting the ball away from their dm and just hit Ziyech ball. If we want to risk it we can play Havertz or mount in the middle more to force spurs dm to play narrower. But it was a dead game that need magic or mistake. We got two, werner offside goal and Giroud "pass" to lloris. With healthy and in form puli, we probably will be able to create more. But he looked understandably off. Was sort of expecting it, Lampard seems to play it safe till the chemistry is top notch (I'm assuming). Maybe it makes sense in Lampard's defence to accumulate as many points we can from the mid & lower tier teams while being safe with the top ones which means comes March we are well played in the top 4. With a well set team, we can then push to better things whether PL of CL (if we r there till then) ... Wished Giroud could have converted that half chance ... Alas! Shows what a small club mentality they have when they are essentially treating a 0-0 park the bus special as some sort of massive step for them. 😂 Two big games in a row for them where Mou set them up like a double decker, played in hopes for a mistake from the opponent, and then when City obliged let Kane or Son take advantage. It worked to perfection against City because they had no central midfield and were tactically stupid just allowing Kane the freedom of the park. We on the other hand have Kante, Kova, and were set up brilliantly. Kane and Son were just about invisible and didn't even get a sniff of a chance. Lets see if those tactics can carry them for a whole season. I have my doubts. They're still totally dependent on Kane and Son remaining fit. And Kane gets injured every season. Rewind to the Southampton game and I think most people would laugh if you said we would concede like 3 goals in the next 10 games. But that's gone. But we are a team who has a lot of attacking talent and are the most solid team defensively in the league right now. No one wants to play us. If lloris doesn't pull off that worldy safe or tammy scores one of those headers and we win then the narrative shifts. But under the radar is fine and if we keep improving then we can be a force to be reckoned with.
