Agreed. Though, I doubt he'd get chances to prove himself as a youngster now like he did back then. Mancienne's stats when he was around the same age are similar and yet he's send to Wolves.

Now he won't get a look in even in cup games with Ivanovic ahead of him.

At the time we bought him, was to cover for Terry, Alex and Carvalho whenever they were out.

Yeah, well, it was unnecessary IMO. He was bought in January and he didn't even play for us last season, did he?

If he played I'm sure it wasn't for more than a couple of times so we could've given them to Mancienne instead. He's (Mancienne) already 20 and I don't think he'd want to stay around as 5th choice for much longer. I hope he does stay tho'.

Mancienne was on loan at that time. Ivanovic did not play at all, because of injury and match fitness and the presence of our other defenders in the team.

I agree that it would've been nice to give Mancienne his chance, but now I think it's not going to work, which is a shame, but there we go. Hopefully we can make better of players in the future.

We still could've recalled him.

Yeah, it's a shame, even more so as he's been with us for more than a decade. It would've been really great to have a player that truly comes from us, not brought in when he was 15 or 16 from other clubs.
