And I'm going to trust Jose Mourinho and the simple truth rather some wild conspiracy theory that doesn't add up.

Allowed to stay at a football club just till he gets his passport  And in a year we have serious issues the number of foreign players in our squad as well!

But you keep spinning around in your "informed loop"

Simple truth is that he's not valuable

Otherwise, there would have been a whole host of clubs ready to sign him

Or maybe Mikel is still here because no other club wants to sign him?

If Jose doesn't want him, he'd have been gone. His wages are relatively low. If Jose didn't think he can valuable to the team, he would have given him away for peanuts if it frees up an international player spot. John made it clear on many occasions that he feels like he owes the club a lot and hence will stay until the club or manager tells him he's not needed anymore.

PS: Any one object about me moving this to the Mikel thread? We're going off topic here.

In what way does it not add up? His agent has made it clear he's not interested in a move until he gets his passport (which actually helps certain teams because he'd be an EU national) and he's got enough good will at the club for them to grant him that.

After that he'll be off, in the summer at the very latest. His problem is that no clubs in this country wanted him at the wages they were quoted.

As for you taking the piss out of members like me who are actually informed about things around the club either because we know people or simply go to places where information is common knowledge, I'll just assume it's the bitterness of having to follow a club from afar on Twitter.

This is a forum for supporters and you should just be grateful that informed supporters actually share their knowledge with you about what's happening at this club. Don't take the piss.

Maybe. But even forgetting the interest from Galatasaray, Besiktas and Inter (who were certain that they'd sign him), he's here because the manager wants him here like all the other players in our squad. It's as simple as that. The conspiracy theories about his passport are hilarious.

There are clubs who would be interested if the player wanted to leave. The thing is he doesn't, he has a contract and he's well-paid.

Silly little boys who don't understand that footballers are humans with their own agendas and needs think it's as simple as right-clicking on a player's name and highlighting 'sell' are so out of touch with reality that it's laughable. It's not just a lack of understanding of the football world, but of the working world from infantile man-childs who have no experience of such things.

He has a contract, he doesn't want to leave....that's pretty much the end of the matter for now.

MVG doesn't want a loan: 'He is such a man, trying to fight for his place'

Torres doesn't want a loan: ' OMG cancer please leave already you're not wanted here'

I really want Torres to leave but there are some issues in this topic :P

Van Ginkel is an ambitious young man who would be paid the same on the same contract if he went to Milan.

Torres's objections apparently stem not from footballing reasons but purely contractual issues (according to reports - I'll admit I have no greater knowledge of what's going on beyond what is reported).

Deriding them as conspiracy theories simply because you don't want to believe them is hilarious.

What are you struggling to understand about it being nigh-on impossible to move a player on if they have a contract and don't want to leave? Even someone with no experience of the working world must've at least a vague understanding of these things.

So you tell us. If a player is in the middle of a contract, wants to remain in the country for a few more months to acquire a fairly valuable passport and no other club in the country is a viable option, what exactly are the options? Come on Choulo, in a purely hypothetical situation, what EXACTLY can an employer do?

Gets popcorn.... :D

It doesn't add up in the sense that Jose would allow to keep a player he doesn't want in the team just for that player to get a passport especially in a season we're having trouble with with international players quota.

The passport may indeed be playing a part in why John wants to stay, but it certainly has nothing to do with why the club and Jose want him to stay.

Oh, I get down on my knees in prayer every day, thanking the lord for the condescending English members like yourself with your "informed circles" to educate us ignorant foreign fans! Don't you have any records to play other than the Xenophobic 'true fans' patronizing bullshit, you self righteous bore?!

Loan him out to a club in England to free up an international player spot and get someone else in his place if he really isn't valuable to the team. Yet, we've loaned out Romeu and are looking to loan Van Ginkel instead.

It's almost as if Jose wants Mikel here, right? Funny.

So we loan him to a club (a club, no specific club just a club despite there being no interest in him) who are able to either pay his wages or pay us a loan fee.

Can you actually think of a club who would want him? A £75k pw player who is really only comfortable as a holding midfielder when parking the bus.

The queue must be round the block. There's a reason he only gets linked with Turkish and Italian teams - he's not suited to fast-paced football.

Actually there are overseas fans who have posted interesting, informative information.

You deriding fans who actually post information that you simply don't have access to is pretty pathetic. BTW I'm not xenophobic - I've gone to matches with supporters from all over the world and even bought the odd one a drink (because I'm awesome like that :D:D) so how about you leave the name-calling to people who can actually use accurate words. Ok treacle ;);)

Yes, no club in the EPL would want an experienced defensive midfielder who has made over 300 appearances and won everything there is to win for free

It's not like Arsenal have major issues in central midfield or united have been looking for a central midfielder for a few seasons, now. So, yeah those two or any mid-table team would take him in a split second.

Of course there was no interest, the club never gave any indications that he's for sale or loan!

Running out of excuses?

I bow to your superior exclusive information that we ignorant international fans have no access to, oh condescending one :worship: :worship: :worship:

I know you and I know exactly what kind of patronizing 'real fans' bullshit you're spouting and I'm gonna call you up for it every time

What exactly is wrong with international fans??? I've heard fights broke out in countries like Malaysia and Singapore between pool fans and united fans. Some of the international fans take it more seriously than local fans.

I of course don't fight with other fans because why would you? But I've been supporting Chelsea since I was 10, so what's the deal? Are we inferior because we don't go to the bridge every week and meet with other local fans to guzzle beer and talk about everything Chelsea?

This passport thing that the Mikel haters have come up with is pretty fucking hilarious

As if Jose Mourinho, who benched Lampard and Cech, froze out Cole, threw Carvalho in the reserves. As if Jose, who was just saying this week how the club and the team always come before the player for him, would keep a player just because of a passport

But I guess whatever gets you all through the night

Mikel haters? And what are you- A Mikel lover?

Quite frankly you come across as someone who has his tongue stuck so far up Mikel's arse that surgical intervention looks to be the only option here.

Very constructive post, thank you very much for the important points you bring up

Yes, I do like Mikel. As a player I think he's underrated. I support all of our players and defend them when they are insulted and disrespected. I defended Kalou and Malouda when they were pictured as the sons of Satan himself by most Chelsea fans, still defend Victor Moses and Ramies and even defended Torres last season when he was being overly-criticized.

I won't apologize for defending Chelsea players.

And as if "Mikel Lover" is a bad thing or the same as "Mikel Hater". He's a Chelsea player if you had forgotten

Are you fucking kidding? He earns £75k pw for starters, and he's simply not good enough for Arsenal nor does he fit the profile they typically purchase, especially when they have Arteta and Flamini already there. They're interested in either Khedira (genuine top class) or Carvalho (young with massive potential). Mikel is not the player for them, but congratulations on trying.....don't look at this as a failure, simply a stepping stone to eventually being right about something.

I haven't mentioned 'real fans' once in this discussion. I've simply pointed out to you that there are posters on this forum who actually have links and personal relationships with people who have knowledge of what is going on at this (and other) clubs. That's how the real world works.

People develop these links over time, which is why people like Richard Keys (who has been a sports journo for 40 years) still gets insider knowledge despite being overseas still....I know you were confused about that when he revealed Courtois would be starting against Burnley.

Don't get all derisive and dismissive just because you don't want to accept these truths. It's just the way the world works and you might actually come to understand that one day. Hang in there kid

When you use reductive language like 'Mikel Hater' you lose any right to get all uppity about people using similarly simplistic terms.

Thanks for the reminder. Seeing how he barely played last season I had quite forgotten.

This is pointless. At this stage your mostly just lying to yourself after I exposed your agenda.

Translation: We fans who can go to the Bridge have mystical sources for information so you inferior international fans cannot argue with us!

And might I ask from what "loop" you got this 'information' from? Did Steve Holland tell you or was Jose himself?

Btw, I broke the Courtios "news" before Keys. I said I'm confident that Thibaut will start because it was pretty obvious that he will. So maybe you Stamford Bridge going fans should not argue with us international fans because we are obviously much more intelligent and better are deductions :D :D #PostLikeTOPTB
