Leif 6,006
I just heard something from someone unreliable but i'll pass it on. Apparently Nigerians have joint problems in their feet from past generations of walking long distances for water or something, meaning when they swim, they can't actually bend their feet, they just flap in and out of water without a bend, meaning most Nigerian people are scared of swimming (and never participate in Commonwealth swimming.) So would this explain why Mikel and the Nigerian team in general seem less developed than their African brethren? Their feet literally don't bend like 99% of other footballers? If that is accurate then problems is the wrong word. The word problems implies impact or stress injuries but such wouldn't be heritable and therefore would not apply to Nigerians in general but only to those who walk so much that they damage themselves. If there is truth in this, it must be because, over time, the feet of people who survive by walking would inevitably become adapted to that function. Whether adaptations in favour of long distance walking also tend to restrict flexibility I don't know.

CHOULO19 24,332
The things you sometimes read on TC! Anyway, thought he needed to show a bit more concentration yesterday, but I really liked the fight he brought to our midfield especially in the first half when Tottenham were getting very physical and we really needed someone to get stuck in. Captain Ahmed 528
As a fan ,I appreciated what JOB did (loyalty, never complains about benching, accepted to play in an another position ,etc...) to CFC. However, next season I want to see RLC to be a part of our starting line-up.This lad is the future of Chelsea FC.

Starting line-up is highly unlikely, and probably for sound reasons. I expect him to play more prominent backup/rotation role in the following seasons until (if) he claims that starting spot. nyikolajevics 2,831
Good news, he's the fucking man. He can play on the highest level even after sitting on the bench for months. By the way, if he stays he will probably play his 400th match for Chelsea next season

King11Didier 916
Just leave now. He will just eat some youngsters' minutes on the pitch, if he stays. I thank him for the long service, but its time to say goodbye. the wes
CHOULO19 24,332
John said a couple of years ago, and I think he really means it, that he feels like he owes Chelsea for what he has accomplished and hence won't leave until the club tells him that his services are no longer needed. As I've said before, I have no problem with him leaving, I'll thank him for all he's done for the club, and I have no problem with him staying as he's a pretty good squad player to have, imo. Weckerz 3,781
Someone should make a video after each game to show how bad this guy actually is. How anyone can defend him goes beyond me. He wouldn't start at Newcastle or Sunderland, let alone play. Absolute joke of a player, he literally can't do anything well. Squad player my ass, he's gotten rich for being useless.
