Essien boost for Scolari

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed midfielder Michael Essien could return to fitness by the end of January - a month ahead of schedule.

While sidestepping questions over Peter Kenyon's prediction of a quiet transfer window, Scolari said: "In January, I'll give you good news about new players. I can do that now if you want? Essien.

"I think he will play for us in the last few days of January."

For all the bad luck we have with injuries, we do seem to get players back well before the due date. :D

Maybe that's why they get injured easily, cause they return before they're fully recovered...

Maybe, but Drogba returned after his knee injury only to be laid off with an ankle injury, Essiens was an unfortunate one, as was Riccys. Its the niggly injuries which would need to be fully cleared up before being brought back. In the Boro game we showed the strength in depth we have, so theres no real rush to bring players back before they're ready.
