Magic Lamps 11,692
By summer everyone has had the virus anyway and we can just go on with our damn business. this hysteria and all the lockdowns are doing more damage than the virus itself. Just diffusing the problem and spreading it faster, stupid imo Just stupidity. Just like that 'no handshake' rule for the players in the PL games. Was that just meant to send a message to the public? Because later on in the match, the players were just grappling with each other during corners and butting heads. Flu > more deadly than Covid. But everyone loses their minds over the latter. After Bayern we have FA CUP and international break. 22 days between Villa and next PL game. But it's annoying that we play in Munich Wednesday evening then in Leicester Saturday early kick off. It's like they are trying to fuck us. ZAPHOD2319
ZAPHOD2319 4,819
At this point, the FA is more important.

Why, we have an FA cup a few days later that we have a real possibility of advancing to the semi finals. We have a very few players that are starters. Why wouldn't you prioritize games? Laylabelle 9,536
Unless some miracle happens this game is over and done with. Especially if they score first. So case of weighing up what's more worth it. No travelling fans to please this time either or least none in the stadium.

Because it's not the 6th game of the group with our fate already decided, there's still a chance, it may be 1/100 but still a chance. Imagine if we played a scratch side, Bayern had a shocker and we won 1-0 on the night, we would forever be kicking ourselves knowing if we played our best available team we would have probably done the impossible. Furthermore there's more to be gained from this game even beyond that, making a game of it and giving Bayern a scare (like say what Liverpool did to us in the second leg in 09 after we battered them at Anfield) could in itself be something for our young players to build on. ZAPHOD2319 4,819
I would rather advance in a competition that has a realistic chance of winning. It would be different if we competitive in the first game. We were beaten pretty soundly.

So crowd or no crowd it wouldn't make difference for them. By all means call off games for later if a whole squad is quarintened but to call of domestic football totally is too much in my opinion. The risk of an under 50 dying of Cov19 is 0.2%, if you haven't been to China then decreases spectacularly, if you don't have underlying health problems that goes down further and I imagine for a fit and healthy athlete further still. Not to mention they are probably all taking nessesery precautions. The players are more likely to lose their life travelling to a match than they are to the virus. If it ultimately comes to it they can have the players and subs playing with just cameramen while any (at risk) coaches can manage through Skype or something. communicate

If we somehow did it next week we'd have that memory forever even if we lost the quarter 12-0.

I agree there is little reason to postpone games. Just play it without spectator.

Its BS, there is a huge agenda going on here. It does not matter which channel you pick, its corona 24/7.......at the same time influenza kills much much more but no one talks about that. Im not afraid at all by corona, its just another gimmick to force their ways. Dont be surprised if they come out and say that we all have to take a vacine, I for one wont touch it. Now schools are off, games are off, masks have been sold out, cities near shut off some places. It stinks to high heaven. They have systematically bombarded us with corona, much more than it deserves to. Blue Armour

It is as simple as that. It comes down to statistics. More crowd, higher chance of the virus being there and higher chance it is being spread out to many people. Yes and those same people will gather in bars and cafes and pubs and spread it to other people who wouldn't even be at the game
