Hakim Ziyech

I'm still trying to found something special from him, everyone to call him "wizard" why, though? He has done maybe 1 or 2 decent games for us since he comes. Yes has a good left foot but nothing else and also with his fav foot his plays are limited.

I am starting to worry that he might be the first of all 6 of our buys that may need to be at least readied to start to slide ever so slightly towards the potential BUST category.

Not impressed with his efforts, he seems a tad lazy and also a bit one dimensional.

Change my mind Ziyech..

Hmmmm make of this what  you will, I know it's the wrong place but I think it's appropriate

Chelsea's Morocco winger Hakim Ziyech, 27, is considering his future at the club after struggling to find form since his move from Ajax. (Corriere Dello Sport - in Italian)

Ziyech ‘considering Chelsea future’ because of Tuchel

I hope he leaves in the summer, out of all signings I don't like him at all, so one dimensional, his Ozil sulking turns me off. I don't think he is build for the PL maybe try to offload him to Dortmund in part exchange for Sancho a win win situation for everyone and probably for the best.

Yes bad first half but I thought he was our best attacker in the second half.

He needs run of games. To play 4,5 games in a row and eventually he will come good.

I agree. He was horrible in the first half, but he stepped up in the second half. I would say that was mostly because he is not a counter attacking player. He is a player that needs the ball regularly, not 5 times every 5 minutes. Look at the performance of Bruno. He is exactly the same. If he does not get the ball regularly, he loses possession 20 times per game (that was the most today). Both Bruno nor Ziyech are counter attacking players. Also, give Ziyech couple of matches to get his sharpness back. I always give this example. Remember when KDB was out of the squad 2 months straight and then played a FA Cup match against a opponent from Championship? KDB could not play a simple pass. Guys like KDB and Ziyech need to develop the sharpness due to match fitness because you need to understand when to pass and know all the movements from his teammates. A winger that is out of the squad for a while has it much easier to start games because dribbling is much easier than playing world class passes.

He could have scored today, but obviously Prime De Gea had to show up lol.

Of course Tuchel had to play, defensive when Ziyech starts. Our today's system would have been much better for Werner, but did not suit Ziyech well, but the matches before that suited Ziyech well, but not Werner. Ziyech did not play in those matches though

Did De Gea really have to do anything special to save that? Ziyech's shot was pretty much straight at him or well within his comfort range. He should have scored especially it was on his left foot.

Great...so now you're saying we have playerS that are suited to face one type of teams here and another type of teams there?

Apologies if I'm being rude but I can't help but laugh at the irony of people saying Werner should have started today after seeing calls for him to be dropped before the game. It's hilarious! The thing about today's game is that United may have decided to press high after seeing our starting front 3. Giroud doesn't have any pace to run in behind while Mount and Ziyech like to come onto the ball or receive the ball onto their feet. They aren't off the ball runners. Had say Werner started, would they have just sat back, as we expected them to, or would they have still pressed high up? If he had started and United just defended deep and he did nothing, people would then be complaining about him starting again.

On Ziyech, how much of his second half performance was down to United suddenly deciding to not press high and sit deeper? Because he wasn't the only one who struggled in the first half and then suddenly looked better in the second half. Also I suppose if we want to make good use of Ziyech, then we also need to play him with the off the ball runners to get on the end of his passes. There was literally no one making those off the ball runs when he played today.

Disappointed again. Hopefully next season he will be better. Has never got to grips with the speed or intensity in the PL and even in the European games.

All of the summer signings bar Mendy, Silva and Chilwell (first 4-5 months with Frank) have disappointed greatly from what was expected.
