The more I think about the fact that next season we have Ziyech and possibly Havetz start behind the striker , the 2 creators: Ziyech spot on with his crosses while Havetz can pass in between lines ... should Lampard start with Werner and Giroud instead of Pulisic & Werner ... move Werner to the left while Giroud as the striker. Werner gives the mobility in the left flanks while Giroud with his ariael presence & hold up play. Though it would be a crime to not include Pulisic who has being dangerous enough from the left side ... it is going to be an interesting call.

Giroud with 29 PL goals. You heard it here first😄

You know what ... It is quite possible. Once the chemistry of the team is set, specially against the lower end teams (no disrespect to them) who would be sitting back will give us scope of hitting quite a few goals :)

Regarding Ziyech's injury in the Sam Wallace article, this is the line that was mentioned...

Ziyech was injured in last Saturday’s friendly against Brighton, a blow to his knee that will most likely rules him out the start of the season.

Maybe it's just me but that feels like a throwaway line in regard to the context of the entire article rather than anything specific on Ziyech's injury. Maybe he will miss the start of the season but if there's been news, one would think Goal, Guardian etc would have picked up on it. Let's see if he's in the training pics this coming week or if there's some actual updates. If not, we just gotta wait for Lampard's presser on Friday.

Surely a week is enough to assess the damage?

The fact that the club hasn't released a statement should indicate that it is no major injury. It is possible though that he will miss the first few games I guess.

The club have never really released statements on a player's injury.

Kai Havertz is in line to make his Chelsea debut away to Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday night, with Christian Pulisic in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury.

There was less positive news regarding Hakim Ziyech, the new signing who injured a knee in the pre-season friendly away to Brighton last Saturday week. He could be absent for a prolonged spell with Frank Lampard saying that he is hopeful it is just a matter of weeks.

Pulisic's availablity is a boost. The American international tore a hamstring in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal at the beginning of August and the initial diagnosis suggested that he would miss the opening two games of the 2020/21 campaign.
