Lille striker Victor Osimhen taken to hospital with chest pains

Canal + report that Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has been taken to hospital tonight.

The Lille forward, who was in action and scored against AS Monaco in the Coupe de la Ligue tonight.

He was substituted off immediately afterwards after he complained of chest pain and a sensation of his head spinning.

22:45 CET: Victor Osimhen will spend the night under observation in a Monaco hospital. He left the Stade Louis II this evening conscious and accompanied by Patrick Flamant, the Lille doctor, who had previously been in charge of the medical service for the AS Monaco academy and knows the region and surrounding hospitals well.

Speaking at half-time to Canal Plus, Lille boss Christophe Galtier moved to reassure fans: “He’s fine. It is nothing very serious.”
