You want one in and one out, but Ziyech can also play major part here.

Anyway, with Hakimi and Haaland here no excuses not to win all 6 trophies next season. We also need to attack 100 points record City has. And to concede less than 15 to break Mourinho record.

Not sure about next season but since Bayer days I knew Havertz is type of player who will reach level of scoring more goals than games played. Just a matter of time.

No excuses to win all 6 trophies. Jesus you on the drink?

Yes those 2 great players but to win all 6 trophies, fuck me, thats incredibly difficult and unrealistic. Never mind 6 winning 3 in a season in a near impossible feat these days. Never mind 6 ūü§£ I get¬†the¬†optimism around the club and what 2/3 excellent signings can do but wouldn‚Äôt go as far as that. I mean if theres no excuse to not win all 6 trophies you going to sit saying if we dont and Tuchel doesn‚Äôt we should sack him?

Even those records, I doubt anyone is getting close to them even with Haaland and Hakimi. They are incredible records.

I am half serious but excited at the same time. This team will be special.

those 5 players are ALL wanted by AC Milan

Giroud

Tammy

Ziyech

Tomori

Emerson

none of those are dogs at all (not even Emerson, we just have better left backs, and all can make large, instant impacts)

and they do want to sell Romagnoli

so it comes downs to Theo (BUT we are selling them Emerson (Tomori goes for free, we wave the 25m they owe for the buy), so not a HUGE downgrade at all, Emerson was a beast at Roma (he is vastly better suited to Serie A footie) before he was injured and he is fine now)

so they can just toss in 20m plus those two and we call it even

the money works almost perfectly

I think Henandez would be pulled all over the place in the PL. To be honest, Emerson, Ziyech and Giroud/Tammy would probably be wanted by Inter as well (especially if they start thinking of selling Martinez as well.) For me, Emerson and Ziyech in particular could grease the Hakimi wheels quite nicely.

It's kinda depressing that we have to rely on a bloody pandemic, a depressed market to be able to sign the best players around. Last year, it was Havertz, Werner etc. This year, we're trying it with Haaland. We don't seem to have a good standing when it comes to competing with other big sides and convincing players to join us, do we?

I think this comes naturally because of our early success with Roman. Players born in late 90s started watching football back than and Chelsea was a big thing so you have many players around the world who support Chelsea which was not the case ever before.

Doesn't matter. The point is we took advantage to sign the big players last summer because no one else could afford to spend and we are now trying to do the same again. As seen already with the Haaland situation, people are not confident at all that we will be able to sign him next summer when we have to compete with the other big clubs.

If we get it done, does it matter? We've just won the CL and potentially have the following players in our squad next year:

James - 21

Hakimi - 21

Mount - 22

Håland - 21

Puli - 22

Havertz - 21

CHO- 20

AC - 24 (CB's mature later and last longer than most outfield positions if they're not reliant on pace.)

That is a serious amount of players that could last us 10+ years. On top of that we also have:

Billy - 19

Guehi - 20

Ampadu - 20

Liveramento - 18

Bate - 17

Coming though.

That is actually pretty fecking insane and that is before we get to players like Werner and Chilwell who are only 25/24 and just had one season in the league/at the club. I mean when did a club have that sort of depth of quality young players all together? Barca 2006-2012 or Utd's class of 92? Not exactly bad company.

I think it has wayyyy less to do with us and more to do with the fact that we are no longer the richest kids on the block. There are now LOTS of big clubs that can afford to pay astronomical fees and wages to attract top players. Whereas before we could simply outbid anyone, now (all things being equal without the pandemic) we can’t.

Says nothing about our draw or appeal for me.

No but it just shows that we profited from fortunate circumstances. In normal times, we probably wouldn't have been able to sign those players that we did last summer. Could/would play out that way in the future.

But this is true of everyone, no? Dippers wouldn't have got Alisson/VVD if¬†Barca hadn't have hit the crack pipe and give them ‚ā¨150m for Coutinho. City wouldn't have got Kun if we hadn't have brought Torres. Barca wouldn't have had such an amazing side if they hadn't pumped Messi full of growth hormone at 13.¬†

Yeah, we aren't Bayern, Real, Barca or maybe even Utd (who I am not that sure are such a pull these days) but it could be said for a lot of teams.

I mean, if we pull of Hakimi and Håland and the squad all gel and continue to develop we could have the next dominate team for a decade. Once you have that, you're pretty much set, especially if you play in one of the big 3 leagues.

I did not like RJ as RCB tbh. He is too short and I think we are wasting his offensive abilities esp his crossingand pace there. He also has the occasional brain fart which caused us to concede 2 goals in the few times he played rcb and would much less impact us if he stayed RWB.  I would much rather see him as DM like he was at wigan for some time if he has to change position at all.

While first team level is ofcourse a totally different ball game he elevated himself to star prospect in the first place playing RCB (to accommodate Lamptey and Sterling at wing back). As Azpi has shown down the years in that position you can still get forward and get crosses in playing there and the combination with Hakimi down that side would cause all ends of problems.

I disagree with the bolded bit, Barca would have been incredible even without Messi.

The national team of that era were pretty much Barca minus Messi and they won absolutely everything.

Those are different circumstances. My point is simply that if we have to compete with others to sign someone big, we don’t seem capable to successfully complete the transfer, for one reason or another. Our last successful signing when it comes actually beating others was Hazard IIRC.

And I wouldn’t consider Hakimi in this circumstance. He’s not that big name of a player.

Kante, he himself confirmed Mourinho made a personal call to him trying to convince him to pick United.

I know he hasn't lived entirely upto expectations but I would to an extent argue Jorginho aswell.

If he is the real deal, he would make it here¬†no matter whom we sign. Look at Mount for example?¬†ūüėŹ

Yes and with amount of games and with pandemic Reece will still have a lot of minutes... but I don't know... What will happened to Azpi?
