Just because a club have spent more than another, it doesn't mean that other club can't be competitive. Atletico have spent considerable money themselves and in Barcelona, their spending has been all over the place in recent years with no clear plan on what they want to do.

He is a good proven manager with a certain style, they dont have to be progressive cuz what thay do works and they are all used to that habitat.

Simeone is a good manager and is good at what he does. One would be silly to dispute that but majority, if not all, the top European clubs these days want to play progressive football, attacking football. They want to win and win with the style. Clubs now are not just satisfied with winning anymore. Juventus, for instance, went for Sarri last summer simply because of his playing style. They didn't care about the fact that he had won only 1 trophy in his career. Heck, we hired Sarri for pretty much the same reason as well. There's a reason why managers like Mourinho finds himself at Spurs or Benitez in China. To Simeone's credit, he has tried to make Atletico more attacking but that hasn't exactly worked out.

So what? Alonso was nominated for player of the month in February and was in the team of the season in second Conte season here and Sarri said he is one of the best LB in the world and you call him pathetic.

No one should be sold on Lamps as manager yet. Our defense is worst in the last 30 years.

Players like Kepa, Rudiger, Kante, Emerson, Jorginho regressed this season...

His treatment of Giroud was embarrassing this season. Olie is the main reason we will play CL next season. Plus underachievement by Spurs, Arse and whatever happened to Leicester after the break.

Rudiger-Zouma pairing played just 4 times this season and we kept 4 clean sheets in these games. Why they did not play more together?

He legit cost us two trophies this season. Super Cup and FA cup final. Tactics in Fa Cup final was pathetic (my first words on this game on this forum) and to put Tammy to shot 5th penalty over experienced guys like Azpi and Pedro was also rookie mistake.

Look how we played two finals with Sarri last season. Great performances against City and Arsenal. Our players played like it is a final. Against Arse the other day we did not look anywhere close to that.

Acting like lunatic the other week in Liverpool is also something we and him should not be proud of.

SOmetimes it is that simple, Poch the same, he too could do real damage. Regarding progressive footy, sarri has been mighty painful for Juve fans, they all want rid. JM and Benitez are ancient, their methods not effective anymore.

I don't expect Lampard to get the sack anytime soon. I'm sure he was promised at least 3 years when he first signed. We've had success changing managers every 1-2 years but stability can be a good thing. Players like Ziyech or Werner admitted he was a big reason they wanted to join. I'm sure Havertz feels the same way. Players want to have a clear vision of the project of the club before they can commit. Those who are already here know they have to convince the manager and show him respect if they know he will still be here beyond one season. The manager in return gets time to implement his ideas and build a team suited to his philosophy. Then If it doesn't work out, look for a better manager if available.

And Alonso deserved that nomination. Go to the "English football thread" and read my last post. "Alonso is a quality LWB but a pathetic LB". It's not his fault if people who decide TOTY don't understand the difference between LWB and LB. He was genuinely good at the role given to him. Hence the nomination.

And our attack? We are having a paradigm shift in culture. Tell me how many goals the Liverpool teams conceded under Klopp before vvd? Or pep in his first season despite being able to buy.

What embarassment? Stop over exaggerating things. We were always going to buy a new striker this window. So it was imperative to give both Tammy and michy a fair shot to understand if either or both had a future at the club. Plus Tammy was golden in the first half. Once his slump had come, he was dumped and Giroud was played. No one including FL would have doubted giroud's ability. Did not he bloody start the uefa super Cup too? But this year was about building blocks for the future.

"Players like Kepa, Rudiger, Kante, Emerson, Jorginho regressed this season..."

Another baseless and over exaggerated comment.

Jirginho - got dog abuse for more than half of the last season with almost every pundit and fan wondering why was he being played ahead of kante.

Emerson - yes. Because he was a worldie under conte and sarri. Baseless

Kante - one of our best players when he takes the pitch.

Rudiger - this one I accept. But read his own interview. He had a bad year, lamps did not tell him to go fuck up each game.

Kepa - lol. He was on a decline since the man City fiasco.

Hmmm. So I am sure that things like penalties is not something which is discussed right? Drogba and jt magically end up taking the final pens. (Btw fuck JT too? Lol). These things are pre decided among the players and staff. Even at college level. Such things don't magically happen out of nothing. Blaming it on FL - baseless.

"Acting like lunatic". Wtf. So if someone triggers him, what is he supposed to do? Bend over?

Not saying FL has been flawless, but the pros mightily outweigh the cons. We have exceeded expectations in every comoetition. We are now buying kai, werner, ziyech as compared to being linked with Zaha, arnautovic and what nots shit. Anyone who is NOT sold on FL yet, should take a deep and hard look at themselves, the PL table, the same thread in last June/July. It's easy to critisize and be the arm chair critic. You can do the same for the best ever players and managers in the world becayse everyone has their flaws. But only thing that matters is if the positives outweigh the negatives. And they do. Given the resources (or rather the lack of), and given what he is buying when given the chance, everything points to him being on the right path.

Anyways, not surprised. It's the same people spreading their pointless agenda.

Being nominated for Manager of the season is a bit of a stretch. But hey ho, young English manager, done an alright job, not surprised one bit. Only one clear winner: Klopp.

Except for Klopp and wilder which manager has had a better season?

Our most successful manager ever was sacked twice, a double winning manager was sacked the following season and a champions league and fa cup winning manager didn't last a calendar year. I think some fans are under the illusion Lampard will be given time he won't it's an overused cliche but it's a results business and if their not up to scratch he'll be out legend or not.

Another overused word is project and granted Lampard couldn't have one with a transfer ban but he's already spent heavily and we all know the areas that need strengthening so if he's allowed to trim the squad of the likes of Bats, Barkley etc and bring in more players and it's not going well then he won't last the season.

Guardiola may have finished 2nd but again City have had a better season. Not lost as many games or conceded as many. Nuno as well at Wolves, they've had a very very good season. Rodgers at Leicester, ok they'd tailed off but in terms of their season, who thought they'd ever finish 5th? So you could argue he would deserve to be in there more also. I havent seen who's up but Klopp, Wilder, Nuno, Rodgers all ahead of him for such a nomination surely?

Looking at it, if it wasn’t Frank and it was another club, how could someone who manages a top 4/5 team lose 12 games and had a goal difference of 15 be up for manager of the season? Not to mention the frantic finish after being 11 or 12 points clear of the top four in the first half of the season. We did alright (vague term because for me, it should have been better based on the first 6 months of the season, young team and all but tactically it was as if we went backwards) but wouldn't say he should be in the running for manager of the season.

Could argue Nuno due to maintaining Wolves' league position despite Europa destractions.

However in general i agree, i wonder how many of the people laughing at his nomination were swearing blind last summer that they'd be happy with 10th if we saw youth and progressive football with a promising projected end product. We got those with a 4th place finish!

Obviously Lampard will have to get results and will not get a free pass, especially after spending a lot this summer. He knows it and has said it as much.

Those things you mentioned, however, were a long time ago though. Ancelotti arguably didn't deserve to be sacked and there have been stories that Roman regretted that decision. Roman never wanted RDM to begin with and he only made him permanent manager because of pressure from the fans. Since then, I think Roman has come to realize that he can't keep sacking manager like every 1-2 seasons because we would run out of good managers to hire and nobody would want to join us. We gave him time to turn things around but Mourinho simply had to be sacked in 2015 because of all the BS he was doing/saying and he had us near the relegation zone! Conte pretty much sacked himself really in the second season. As for Sarri, think the club would have been happy to stick with him but he wanted to go.

Pep? The manager who finished with a 100 points last season, finishes with 81, despite investments.he has had a better season than FL who managed a team who lost their best player and the best player in the league. Had a transfer ban. Experts did not even predict us to finish in top 6, forget top 4.

Wow. That's some weird expectations.

Wolves finished 6th/7th last season and this season. What did nuno do to improve? They were expected to finish where they did. We did not. Rodgers did not. Wilder did not. Klopp had one of the best PL campaingns. The 4 managers who exceeded expectations are the ones in the running as they should be.

Unless we're in the bottom half he won't be sacked next season. We'll definitely show more patience.

Its the third year thats squeaky bum time if we still play like a basketball team
