We so so need the CAS deferral appeal to work. I cannot take watching Luiz trot out as as a starter for 2 or 3 more years. Same for Willian (who walks on a free in 2020 if he doesn't get a multi-year contract as well, which if we give in to Luiz, he will have big leverage to demand)

I don't see why giving him a 1 year extension is a bad decision. He has his flaws and is far from a world-class defender now but he surely  has earned the extension, is vital for how the team plays as he is the only accurate long-range passer in the team. Even without the deferral we are short of CBs and it would have been unwise to let him go.

No, he is going to be given a 3 year or so extension, or he walks.

I have ZERO issues with a 1 year extension, but 3? Hell no
