Kalou ready to leave Chelsea

Chelsea forward Saloman Kalou has said he is prepared to leave the club if he can't earn a place in the starting eleven.

The Ivory Coast international has found his opportunities limited since Luiz Felipe Scolari has taken over, making just two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

The 23-year-old has said he is working hard to retain his place in the starting eleven but if things remain the same he may be forced to move elsewhere.

"Of course I practice hard to have opportunities, but the manager's decisions must be respected, even if I'm here to play," Kalou told Setanta Sports.

"It's up to me to work twice as hard at training, and to be honest I try to give my best in order to improve my football and hopefully it's going to pay off.

"I don't know what my future consists of, the season is still long. It's too early to take a decision right now.

"When a young player arrives at Chelsea he's happy to learn, and then you can have the opportunity to grow in another club or in here.

"As a young player I am aware of the fact that I have to make the perfect choice and at some point of my career I'll have to accept to fly with my own wings."

Before every much I am hoping to see him on starting line-up, but sadly Felipao prefers Malouda. Kalou would defo bring some Brazilian type of flair into team, at least more than Malouda.

I wouldn't like to see Kalou getting wasted on bench like happened to SWP.

Salomon Kalou insists he has no intention of quitting Chelsea and says he wants to become a Stamford Bridge legend. The Ivory Coast striker has made just three substitute apperances under new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, fuelling speculation that his time at the club could be coming to an end.Barcelona have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but Kalou is determined to stay and fight for his place by forcing himself into Scolari's plans.

"I want to be one of Chelsea's most important players, fulfil the expectations that people have of me and play a part in as many wins as possible," Kalou said in the Daily Star.

"I'm going to have to work hard, score a lot of goals and help set more up. I hope we can win all the competitions that we are taking part in.

"With some coaches you can tall straight away that they're good. In the first training sessions I could see Scolari was the right man for the job.

"A lot of people feel we don't play attractively, but we can change the way they think and play football that's nice to watch." Daily Star
