Don't kid yourself, in the same game he also missed a sitter. You could see his soul leave his body when it happened, he's become unrecoverable like Torres was confidence-wise.

You might laugh but I'd take Torres right now. I always remember the good things our ex players did too along with the shite.

And he did give us some good goals,

Well... Hope those fans are happy.

Hopefully be a fine more then anything else. Especially if no proof proof. The worse case mentioned before Stadium ban seems a bit drastic.

CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report

n°41 - January 2019

How important is ball possession in football ?

http://www.football-observatory.com/IMG/sites/mr/mr41/en/

1. Introduction

The 41st Monthly Report analyses the link between ball possession and results in 35 championships from UEFA member associations for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons (2017 and 2018 for the summer leagues). The data used was generated by the specialist InStatcompany, with which the CIES Football Observatory collaborates. The sample is made up of no less than 19,949 domestic league matches.

The analysis focuses on both the results at match level and the rankings at the end of the season. Though the link between success and the three indicators for possession taken into account is undeniable, the report shows that it is only from a certain level that ball control allows teams to improve significantly their results. This is probably the source of the erroneous but widespread idea that possession is not a key factor for success.

2. Analysis by match

The first type of analysis consists of crossing the percentage of ball possession with the average difference of goals per match. Possession was calculated on the basis of the actual amount of playing time. Figure 2 illustrates the positive link between possession and results. Nevertheless, a real disparity only starts to appear from a possession percentage of 57%. It is from this threshold that the dominant teams significantly increase their chances of victory.

The second indicator analysed is the percentage of successfully completed passes by a team in comparison to the total of successful passes during a match. In this case also, a positive link with scores exists. However, up until a threshold of about 55%, the ability to complete more passes than one’s opponent does not have an impact on results. This confirms that possession must be sufficiently high to constitute a key factor for success.

Journos trying to get transfer stories out of Sarri.  They're trying to get anything that they can turn in to some sort of "Sarri furious at not being backed" headline.  He just keeps giving them "I don't know", "I've spoken to Marina about it, the market is not my concern".

Don't let them create headlines, Sarri.  They're dying for one.

Marina got praised by the manager in the public! Must be a first...

It's a mind game. Praise your woman in public and you know you're getting a red panty night when you get home. I think that's kind of how Sarri is approaching this but in this case the red panties being a midfielder.

Good tactic. I will keep this in mind as I get married. :D

Serie A transfer deadline

Bizarrely, Italian football had originally planned to run a truncated winter window from Thursday, Jan. 3 to Friday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m. CET. It would appear sense was seen last month, however, with the deadline now restored to Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. CET (3 p.m. ET).

Maurizio Sarri Says Chelsea Will Stick with 4-3-3 Formation

https://www.thesportsbank.net/football/chelsea/maurizio-sarri-says-chelsea-will-stick-with-4-3-3-formation/

Interesting bit i found the 4-2-3-1 formation ,mmm to have Jorginho+Kante in those positions seems too obvious (all those defensive phases he talks about would have cut down dramatically if played that formation) “We are not ready. I can change when we are at 100 percent in what I want to see. If in 4-3-3 we are at the top, we can try to change. Like in Naples last season, when we played in the last period also in 4-2-3-1. But not at the moment. We are not ready.”

If all goes wrong and we drop from top 4 then he'll be gone. Can't see them being that patient after having the spot for so long. Then again if we do get top 4 something needs to change cause can't play like this in the Champions league.

Hopefully something will click and be changed.

I have been holding this for a long time now, way too long now. Get him out of this club. PLEASE!

I have had enough of this man. The board is unable to attract his type of players (where is the so much needed Fabregas's replacement?) and he is destroying us with the given squad.
