Well here's the story

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for several weeks now, and Chelsea seemed to have secured his signature when they confidently advertised Robinho shirts for sale in their online megastore.

But search for Robinho's name this morning and the website reads: "Sorry, your search didn't return any results."

The club have now confirmed that a mistake was made. “Our online partner, Kitbag, always prepares in advance of any potential signings, and unfortunately it accidentally made its way onto the site but has now been removed," said a spokesman. "The club has always made it clear he [Robinho] is a major target and we hope to compete a deal soon.”

It is understood that Chelsea had provisionally agreed a £29 million fee with Real, as well as personal terms with the player, but the deal was dependent on the Spanish club finding a replacement.

After saying that they would not hold a player against his will, Real abruptly changed their stance yesterday. “The coach and the sports director want the player to stay and I am sure he will,” said president Ramon Calderon. “Our squad is complete and it is impossible for us to have one better than the one we have.”

Sporting director Predrag Mijatovic added: “Robinho still has two years left on his contract. Therefore he is our player for the next two seasons, so you can draw your own conclusions from that.”

Chelsea have allowed Shaun Wright-Phillips to return to Manchester City, a move which was widely seen as paving the way for Robinho's arrival.

However, with Real having lost face over Cristiano Ronaldo, it appears they are unwilling to have their hand forced by Robinho. Rafael van der Vaart, the Holland midfielder, has been Real's only major signing this summer.

David Villa, the Spain forward, was the subject of interest from Real this month but has since signed an improved contract to remain with Valencia

Apprently it was a mistake?

Mistakes like that just shouldn't happen at clubs like Chelsea.

Chelsea were over-confident because Kenyon was so full of himself, in fact if anything was likely to piss Real off and make them play hard ball, its seeing their player's 'Chelsea' shirt advertised on the official site before a deal was even done. Not the smartest move Chelsea have ever made.

The mistake was by kitbag, not by Chelsea Football Club. I have to say you are extremely quick to get your teeth into the club any time they are made to look bad unfairly by the media!

I wonder who at Kitbag sanctioned such a thing to be done, though. The online megastore is independently run to the stadium one, and is based, of all places, in Manchester. Kitbag are the ones who have fucked up, though whoever suggested in the first place to make Robinho replica shirts is a complete ass.

Real hit out at Blues' conduct

Real Madrid have criticised Chelsea's conduct after reiterating that wantaway striker Robinho will not be sold.

Robinho held a press conference in Madrid on Sunday to again express his desire to join Chelsea before the close of the transfer window.

The Brazilian is unhappy that the club have not renewed his contract and has suggested coach Bernd Schuster will have to shoulder the responsibility, if he has to stay at the Bernabeu.

Earlier this month, Real president Ramon Calderon stated he would not want an unhappy player in the club's squad, but said Robinho would have to rescind his contract, if he wants to leave.

The Spanish champions are sticking to their stance and are not keen to sell the 24-year-old after previously rejecting an offer from Chelsea.

And Real have also now hit out at Chelsea's behaviour in the matter after the Premier League club sold shirts bearing Robinho's name.

"The club refers to an earlier statement on this matter, when it said if the player's final decision was to unilaterally rescind his contract, we would have no option but to accept it," read a statement on Real's official website.

"Real deplore the way Chelsea's directors have acted despite knowing perfectly well the decision not to sell the player, making statements and even going so far as to sell shirts with the player's name on through their official website."

Whoever made the mistake, it was a biggie, lol. Real are pissed big time. We havent got a hope in hell of getting him now.
