Mason Mount

The most mature player from our current generation youth academy products, with Reece James running close.

Its no wonder that he is the one that has really solidified his position in the starting 11. And again, a decisive moment in a big game against big opposition.

His post match interview itself was very composed, and gave the impression of a player beyond his years. Humble, feet on the ground, and also giving credit to the opposition and his England team-mates.

Great performance. and what a pass. Absolutely beautifullly pointed and weighted. Xavi, Pirlo, Lampard, Fabregas none could have played that pass better. Not only a through ball but the mother of all defence splitters.

Mason Mount, 9 goals 7 assists for the season. For being aged 22, his second season in the PL, lets not beat around the bush if you like him or don't, is a good season either way.

He also scored in a CL quarter final, a CL semi final and assisted the winning goal in the CL final.

Maybe some of the critics will shut up now ??? What else do people want from him 😂?

Most of the people that beat up on him on here only do so because they didn't rate him when he came in and/or because they were hyping up people like RLC and Kepa and cannot be seen to backtrack too much.

It feels like you're like referring to someone specific there. 🤣

He didnt get a new hair cut, but he already looks like a little magician. Tuchel really gave life to Mount, he now looks like a proper player.  One of my favorite of the current team, and he is a hard working dude who was playing in championship 2 years ago, he is not a despicable person like Neymar and guys like that who are more concerned in being instagram superstars and in individual prizes than playing football for the club.

The obvious captain candidate after Azpi

Rudiger as Vice.-captain

he is a warrior and never backs down (same as Azpi)

Tuchel finally was the one to take him to WC level of play (and has done an AMAZING job with AC too)

my CB want is to replace Thiago and Azpi after they leave (Thiago likely in 2022) or no long start (Azpi)

if only Thiago was 30, 31, I would not even be giving a toss much about CB atm

if you judge off prime years/full career (not just Chels), he is 2nd best CB (after Terry) the club has even had on our roster, shame it came at the end of his career

he is one the rare hard as nails Brasilian players, like Dunga, Branco, Gérson, Aldair, Luis Pereira, Djalma Santos, Nilton Santos, Lucio, Fernandinho, Maicon, Hilderaldo Luiz Bellini (captain of the 1958 WC winners with the 17yo Pele as the star), and Cafu

Disagree, if we judge off on their prime then Silva would be the 4th best CB after Desailly, Terry, and Carvalho.

You've missed Tostao and Socrates😉

There were 4 players that I loved from that era there were many many more but, there was the best player in the world ever Pele, Gerson, Tostao, and Jair or Jairzinho to give him his full moniker.

That Brazilian 1970 team was ridiculous although in term of personnel the 1958 team was better individually.

'What a joke!' - Angry Chelsea fans cannot believe what has happened to Mason Mount

The Blues midfielder was on a shortlist for the award but was beaten by the Manchester City youngster

https://www.football.london/Chelsea-fc/news/Chelsea-fans-mason-mount-joke-20749626

The result of the Premier League Young Player of the Year vote was announced on Saturday afternoon, with Chelsea’s Mason Mount in the running.

Unfortunately for the Blues’ midfielder, he just fell short of topping his club season off with another personal accolade as Manchester City starlet Phil Foden claimed the award.

It had been a memorable season for the Chelsea academy graduate in his second full season as a first team player at Stamford Bridge.

He scored nine goals and notched as many assists in 54 appearances in all competitions as Thomas Tuchel’s troops claimed a place in the top four as well as winning the UEFA Champions League.
