McClaren signs Chelsea defender

Chelsea defender Slobodan Rajkovic has joined former England boss Steve McClaren at FC Twente.

The 19-year-old, who played for PSV Eindhoven on loan last season, will return to the Eredivisie for a second, year-long loan spell.

McClaren claims he beat off interest from several English sides to secure Rajkovic’s signature.

He told the Dutch club's official website: "I am pleased that we could add such a young player with all his qualities to our squad.

"Chelsea have already seen his qualities and therefore signed him. I saw him play with PSV in the past season against Fiorentina in the Uefa Cup.

"Many clubs, especially in England, wanted his signature. I want to have as strong a squad as possible with competition for places in each position. And he can play in several positions in defence."

Said Boutahar has ended speculation about his future by signing a new two-year contract with Willem II.

"Last season we were on the right track with Willem II," Boutahar told the club's official website. "I have improved myself as well and I think if I stay with Willem II for a longer period I can make the jump to a bigger club."

Feyenoord midfielder Sebastian Pardo will return to Chile after signing a contract with Universidad de Chile, while defender Dwight Tiendalli and midfielder Diego Biseswar have both been told they have no future at the club.

Also leaving Rotterdam will be Geert den Ouden after he exercised a clause in his Excelsior contract allowing him to leave as a free agent before July 15.

"I hope to have a new club soon," Den Ouden told AD Sportwereld. "But nothing is concrete yet.

"It is correct that there is interest in me from Cyprus, but also in Holland clubs have asked for me.

"I am still fit and to be honest, I don't feel like playing in the Dutch Jupiler League. I will now wait, I can take that risk."
