Slobodan Rajkovic joins FC Twente

Former England boss Steve McClaren has made his first signing at FC Twente after agreeing a one-year loan deal for Chelsea centre-back Slobodan Rajkovic.

Hopefully he can go there and impress, he needs to be playing every game at the moment. He seems a very very good talent and we need to bring him through in the right way so that when the time comes he is ready to make the step up to the CFC first team. Being at PSV last season was maybe too much too fast for him...

Spot on. The step up to PSV was perhaps to big a gap for him at such a young age, but Twente aren't that great a side and he will hopefully get a lot of playing time this campaign.

At this stage in his development that is all that matters, the harder it is for him the better it can make him. We have a very good record with Centre Backs and we have some outstanding ones. It will be hard for him to force his way into our squad.
