the wes 7,212
New Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is willing to give striker Andriy Shevchenko another chance to shine at Stamford Bridge, news daily The People claims. The Ukrainian star joined Chelsea from AC Milan in 2006 for a fee of 39 million euros but has yet to justify such figure, having been considered one of Premier League's biggest transfer flops. After two seasons in which he found goals extremely hard to come by, it was reported that The Blues were ready to off-load the player, with AC Milan and Barcelona emerging as possible suitors. But Big Phil, who was appointed as coach earlier this month, is interested in granting Shevchenko another opportunity to shine, this way pleasing the club's owner, Roman Abramovich, who orchestrated the Ukrainian's signing nearly two years ago. Scolari will have the chance to coach his recently-inherited squad for the first time in tomorrow's pre-season training. Shevchenko, who made just 17 appearances for Chelsea under Avram Grant, is expected to be given a starting role in the club's pre-season tour of Russia and the Far East. goal.com

EskWeston 696
There have been a lot of stories this summer with the words "Sheva not for sale" in them so it is no suprise to see that he will be with us next season. Which is certainly not a bad thing. We saw last season that he can recapture his form, and hopefully we will see the best side of him this season, because he still does have a lot to offer us. EskWeston 696
with a totally different style of football and players like deco and robinho...he will hit form He will certainly benefit from having someone like Deco in the squad to feed off, Sheva is very clever at making the runs and Deco is very clever at picking them out, it could work well. Only time will tell.
BlueLion. 21,491
He's got to come good some time soon. Sheva's had a lot of support and a lot of faith put in him by three managers now, I just hope he proves himself in pre-season and gets a big role next season. No matter how little part he has played since his arrival, he's scored some very important goals, especially in Europe, and is always going to be an important cog in the Chelsea machine while he is with us. He started to show glimpses of his old self in November/December before he suffered that ankle injury, I hope he can regain his confidence and bang away 15 goals next season, which would be a nice return. The fact that not many people will expect Sheva to do anything this season could well work in his favour. There will be less pressure on him and hopefully he can regain the form he was so close to finding at one point last season. He is still a class player who can score plenty of goals for us. He was back in training earlier than everyone else to get his fitness levels right for the start.
