Absolutely true. The quality of player we'd like to sign probably doesn't have to choose however. We want, and need, top level performers. Once they've established themselves, assuming we think Kante is established, such players will be in high demand which makes it highly likely that they'll find a club which meets their footballing and personal ambitions as well as their financial ones. Given they can earn silly money in a number of places, the other factors are likely to get more consideration than would be the case if there was only one big pay cheque on the table. For example, some players go to China or the Middle East but some turn them down.

You said PSG have no need for him, that has never stopped clubs before and it won't for PSG in this instance if they want him. Verratti has had a long absence with injury, there maybe under laying issues with that hence their links to Kante. Not only that but you can already see the sheer depth of squad size they have at their disposal every season, they can have squad size because the astronomical wages and transfer fees they pay.

Don't think Kante going to PSG would impact Verratti anyways. He would go there to replace Thiago Motta I would guess. Motta is old, super slow, and not athletic at all. He's essentially the Italian Carrick.

Verratti, Kante, and Matuidi would be ridiculous.

Naturally, but he'd occupy Lampard's position in a 4-3-3. I'm wondering maybe Conte wants to go 4-4-2 with Nainggolan and Kante in the middle, would that work? Provided we get a proper partner to Costa of course.
