Badboy 1,526
Jose Mourinho has conceded he is unlikely to secure the signature of Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard for the new season, but is '100 per cent sure' the England international will be an Internazionale player for the 2009/10 campaign. Lampard's future at Stamford Bridge has been the subject of conjecture for some time as he enters the final year of his existing contract. Mourinho, who took over at the San Siro in June, has made no secret of his desire to sign the 30-year-old after coaching him during his time at Chelsea. Furthermore, Chelsea's capture of Deco on Monday has increased speculation that Lampard's time with The Blues will soon come to an end. 100 per cent However, Mourinho does not believe he will land his man ahead of the forthcoming season, but is positive Lampard will sign for the 2009/10 campaign. "This season? I don't think so," Mourinho told Portuguese TV channel TVI. "Why won't he? Well, it's not because we don't want him to, but I'm sure Chelsea and Chelsea's officials don't want to sell him. "However, for the next season it will be easier for him to join me at Inter. "I'm 100 per cent sure in 2009/2010 he will be playing here."

warnie_666 1,081
Jose Mourinho, Back to his best. Playing mind games with Chelsea. His intention is to make Chelse aware that, Lampard will anyways come to Inter next season after his contract expires and its Chelsea's decision whether they want to cash in on Lampard or let him go for free within a year. Kez 2,727
Fair enough he brought ferreira and carvalho from Porto but they were his signings in the first place. Lampard has been here for 7 years, before Mourinho was. He is Chelsea leave him at Chelsea and find your own player Edited July 1, 2008 by Kez

He is the BEST CB at Chelsea.

TylerCFC 7
If Lampard wants to leave we should sell him. What's the use in keeping a player that doesn't want to be there?
EskWeston 696
Time to get this sorted once and for all. It has gone on FAR too long!!!!! Lampard has said he wants to stay at Chelsea - Great! Chelsea say that want to extend Lampards contract - Great! So lets get this sorted and get Lamps tied into the club. To lose him this season or next would be a massive shame. Everyone wants Lamps to finish playing football with us.
misschief 24
Not everyone Esk. Personally I think if Lampard really wanted to stay, he wouldnt have failed to sign a contract for the past two years. If the reports are true and its about Lampard wanting Chelsea to give him an unrealistically lengthy contract then they should let him go. No player his age - no matter who it is - should be given more than two years at a time. They made that mistake with Sheva and it looks like they've learnt from it. Bang on, Two years to sign a contract, Sorry to say it but he's taking the piss big time. Lampard as been fantastic for Chelsea, no doubt about it, But all this "Coyness" is going a touch too far. He should just come out and say what he wants to do, And if he does indeed want to go then thanks for everythng Frank - now please fuck off and let us move on. Stamford 3
Chelsea WILL GIVE LAMPS £140K A WEEK Frank Lampard Thursday July 3,2008 Chelsea last night offered Frank Lampard a new £140,000-a-week take-it-or-leave-it contract which would make him the highest-paid player in British football, in a desperate bid to keep him out of the clutches of Inter Milan. The attempt to persuade the England midfielder to stay came after Express Sport revealed yesterday that contract talks had reached deadlock and that Lampard was upset that new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari had not yet contacted him to assure him of his future at the club. If Lampard accepts, he will move above captain John Terry in the Stamford Bridge pay scale as the highest earner at the club – and in the country. Terry is on around £135,000 a week, while other stars such as Germany skipper Michael Ballack and Andriy Shevchenko are earning around £130,000 a week. Chelsea's dramatic late move appears to be a last-ditch offer to the England midfielder, who is due back for pre-season training on Monday. But it still does not match his demands of £150,000 a week – although it does signal that at least some of the Chelsea hierarchy, including owner Roman Abramovich, want him to stay. New manager Scolari, though, has still not spoken to Lampard, who will return from holiday in Sicily tomorrow. Sources have described the player as "disillusioned" by the silence from the Brazilian and ready to leave. The £8 million signing ofPortugal midfielder Deco earlier this week was hardly a positive sign. Inter, managed by Lampard's former mentor Jose Mourinho, are convinced they have clinched a £7m deal for the player with a £6m-a-year contract on offer, although no talks with Lampard have taken place. One more sign that Scolari has Lampard some way down his list of priorities is that the manager has found the time for talks with centre-back Ricardo Carvalho in a bid to persuade him to stay. Carvalho is a £24m target for Inter, but Scolari met the Portuguese star last week and begged him to stay at Stamford Bridge. The fact that the coach went out of his way to do that with another Blues player could spell the end of Lampard's Stamford Bridge career. Meanwhile, according to reports in Moscow, Abramovich has told Scolari he wants at least one Russian among the new faces at the Bridge this summer, which could lead to a move for striker Andriy Arshavin, midfielder Yuriy Zhirkov or forward Roman Pavlyuchenko. Higher up Brazilian Scolari's list, though, are Samuel Eto'o and Kaka. Source = Daily Express
EskWeston 696
Even through all this speculation i still just can't see Lampard leaving. I would be completely shocked and dissapointed if it does happen.

EskWeston 696
Every time this story is mentioned it is a different reason why the contract isn't done yet! It is not enough money, then it is not long enough contract, then it is details like image rights, then it is wanting to go and play with Jose ect... ect... ect.... It is crazy the way this has been reported, Frank is still on holiday, how is anything supposed to get done then? Why would he do contract negotiations over the phone while he is on holiday? Come next week we will have more of an idea of what is happening once he returns to the club, talks to Scolari and presumably begins negotiations or says he wants to leave.
