HIGHEST PAID DEFENDER IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!

Question is, did he get a pay rise to make him the highest paid defender in the PL or is it just a case of higher paid players like Ferdinand, and Vidic being released?

Either way, with the season he just had he deserves a good contract for next season and I'm glad he got it.

I heard he was going down in wages rather than up. 60k p/w was being thrown around.

Anyone got an idea of the true number?

I heard his wages were getting halved. I am sure he was on 160k, so I presume his new wage will be 80k. Don't hold me on the figures though, as it is all rumours ATM.

I remember people strongly suggesting he had the "match highest earner" clause, so he earned (or earns?) the same as Torres. Frankly I've no idea if it's true or what he earns or what he will be earning, I'm just glad we retained him.

"The 33-year-old joined the Blues from West Ham as a youth team player in 1995 and made his senior debut in 1998.

Terry has gone on to make over 600 appearances, helping Chelsea to three Premier League titles, five FA Cups, two League Cups and a Champions League triumph in 2012."
