Madmax 9,219
Don't understand why his wages are of any consequence. Wages only matter from a financial standpoint (to me, as a fan) when the player they're being paid to doesn't put in performances that deserve them. It's all relative. You don't hear City fans complaining about Toure's wages, do you?

About the new deal, various figures being reported, from £140000 + bonuses (Times) to £175000 (Guardian). So not a huge difference.
Ze Mario 638
He deserved it (both contract and amount of wage), and we still need him. I bet Hodgson bit himself to death looking how JT still THAT good in 13/14 season.

The_Flash 1,144
Best signing of the summer. He is Chelseaonly in England would you have the country's best defender not go to the world cupI say this as HALF English and have supported them in every tournament. We have to have the excuse for when we inevitably go out on penalties, that WE DIDNT TAKE JT!!!! I think Roy is a fool he's wasted so many careers, players who could easily still be playing for England. When you take ol' Lambert and not Cole, the mans a fool. He should have been begging Terry to play. oldportblue

Fair play to Capello he backed JT and saw the witch hunt for what it was...The FA are the only people to blame and they consistently ruin this country - if a gas explosion occurred in their headquarters, I would shed a tear, a tear of joy and hope ! Now that the WC is upon us I can bet good money they are gutted he won't be part of it all, and it's all they deserve. Fulham Broadway 17,313
When the manager turned up he should have nutted him, then smashed the sales assistants head on the counter. As people start screaming, he calmly tells his Missus to leave, then systematically smashes the whole shop up, and sprays Chelsea FC on tne wall. Proper Chels style. That would have really given the Daily mail something to write about.
