Heisenberg 1,824
We didn't actually sack him though, he left on "mutual agreement"terms, I know people will claim that was basically a sacking, yet people don'tseem to remember what the atmosphere was like. Not only did we start the seasonwith some poor results and some dire results, there was constant newsreports of infighting between the board, Jose and the players (if you believeMakalele's autobiography Terry was directly involved with the toxic atmospherethat was developing with Jose), so it was not exactly like everything was rosythen the 'evil' members of the board conspired against him because they did notlike him and wanted him to go.And here's the thing, Jose is all about Jose, he is a cult ofpersonality that does it for his personal glory. O.K that’s fine if you want tohave instant success but unless he is given full control which isbecoming rarer in football and clubs that have boards that play a more activerole in the footballing affairs is a fact of life) he will eventually get into conflictwith someone and create a toxic atmosphere. Here it was with the board, andwith Madrid its with both the board and the players. What I'm trying to say isthat he is not the guy that takes clubs forward in the sense that he will putin the foundations to make the club both in terms how we use players in termsof acquiring them and replacing them and the general atmosphere in a statewhere it can be sustainable. Like I said previously here is hedonism personified, the kick feels great and it seems to be unstoppable, but once you run out the withdrawalcan be a nightmare. For example after he left, our fortunes we went in almost complete freefall. four years after he left we went two seasons without a trophy, one morepremier league title where we could only win by one point and a dressing roomthat was too powerful, had too many big egos in it and was a nightmare formanagers to get a grip on it, either being forced out or having to take such alax approach that players could almost get away with murder and not bepunished (Ashley Cole shooting someone with an air rifle springs to mind).Yes, we won a couple of trophies, and you may well say that it was Jose's influence that won them. But that may very well not happen next time. Hell, look at Inter Milan, after he left he created an almost unmanagble dressing room with big egos, but they went the complete opposite way. Choulo said it best:This is why I find some of the fan mentality absolutely cringeworthy - when I read posts like "OMG JOSE'S COMMING HOME!!!" and"We really need Jose, his going to save us!", its making Jose bigger thanthe club, in the sense that they are falling or his cult of personality and tryingto make it that he is Chelsea. You could say that if he was here like Alex atMan Utd, but he can’t stay at a club for more than 3 years, gets into conflictwith someone in the club and his whole career is going from club to club tryingto give them instant success before bugging off and leaving the club he left todo the hard work of rebuilding. Is he a great manager, no doubt about it, bout tryingto make it as though Jose and Chelsea are somehow spiritually one, I find nauseatingand insulting to the club. Sure if you want him so it may give us a fewtrophies in his short time before moving on then fine. But don't pander that heis the long term saviour of Chelsea and the club personified, its bollocks. He is our saviour in terms of having a manager for more than six months ! It is hot response for most of fans here when you see your favourite manager in London, i see no problem with that. You say that José is not the one that takes club forward, are you serious ? We were nothing compared to where we are ! He won us titles, respect, some jalousy from others, and made us a great team, now, for the egos & Terry-José problem, that is absolutely true. But, you dont sack managers because of a bad start of the season, look at Galliani & Allegri, Milan were 17st in october if my memory is right, they are second now, we'll never know if he could "lunch the Chelsea machine" that season, and he had injuries.Your vision of José is a person who love himself too much and create problems with his players because he thinks he is right most of times, well, it is true, but, if your players who won nothing begins to win titles when you arrives, you deserve fucking respect for your winning methods at training.Just like Brian Clough's 44 days at Leeds United, Mourinho will always have this confrontational style, its his nature, i think Terry surely regreted his departure. The only place to be 11,313
Oh no, oh no, you have to put my line in the right context ! He said that José isnt bigger than 107 of Chelsea's history, something completely no-sense, so I answered that we are in 2013 and financially, we are we are in another world, dont try to take what you want of my words, I also said " the club need mister Mourinho because of his magnificent capacities to win trophies and move the club forward"Basically you're trying to deny the huge José Mourinho's work and titles by saying the he won by an ugly way and with Roman's money, it is a shame really, because he deserve far more respect, we played superbe football in his two prime seasons at the club, we dominated the league against the Arsenal's and United, we were imbeatable at times, 86 games unbeaten at home before Avram, you cant have such records by playing in a defensive style.I'm really not.I'm saying that what he needs to do this time is different from what he needed to do in 2004. Leif 6,006
Just a note: The fact that Mourinho was indeed in Portugal just a day or 2 ago for a ceremony and that Porto-based Youth Coach then brought up last night that he'll be joining us adds to the credibility IMO. (Mourinho always visits the Porto HQ when he's in the country apparently.)No doubt Spanish papers that are pro-Madrid will try and make it all out as "Mourinho is just on holiday in London", but honestly, I doubt it. Who wants to holiday in some rainy grey city the very day after being in sunny Portugal? Hmm. Heisenberg

Marvin123 539
Well it seems to be falling together piece by piece, maybe it was the truth last year that he wanted to join but didt want to be known as the guy that replaced fan favourite diMatteo,But in replacing Benetiz he automatically boosts how much we love him...Anyway imagine what he could do with these players at his disposal, and we all know he will bring in a couple more...If in fact he does become our manager again and it isn't just 'visiting'

CHOULO19 24,332
Right, before this gets out of hand, people do know that Jose has a house in London and that his daughter goes to college there, right? He probably visits London a dozen times a year...Jose really does like to make headlines, making sure he gets spotted in London just as the rumors are picking up steam Heisenberg and Rmpr

Hutcho 8,443
Very true. But Jose must know what he is gonna do and loves playing with the media, so it might not mean that much but i would rather see him in london than not...Tbh, it would be worth Jose coming back just for the press conferences and the character. But we will get excited about this as much as we would get excited about signing hazard for example.I'm not denying those two points, but I think the term don't turn back comes to mind, especialy with such a short term manager who is no garuantee to have the same success as he did last time. And from what I have seen in peples overly dramatic posts, it does seem they put him bigger then the club.
