Why are you trying to pin the blame on Mata? Sure he didn't have a great games this season but this is no reason to imply that he is an arrogant prick who doesn't give a sh*t and won't fight for the team. That really was uncalled for.

I know it's a favorite sport in all the forums pinning the blame on someone - hell, Barcelona fans blame Messi for everything that is wrong with their team at every opportunity - but for god's sake, it's too early in the season still, we're in contention for all competitions, why not wish for every player in the team and a manager to do well?

I prefer Bayern, Dortmund style. Total attack.

Bayern isn't playing total attack. Dortmund does, and it's great to watch, but I'd rather watch counter attacking football that gets the job done than go all out attack and be in the situation BVB is now. Matter of taste.

Most frustrating thing is having attacking players costings millions and they can't create many chances

Look at Schurrle, Hazard, Oscar and Willian and you won't compare any of them to players like Silva, Ozil, Kagawa or Mata.

What those players have is great work-rate, pace and trickery. So we can score goals on counter and through individual brilliance, but not a lot of creativity there.

What? You can't compare Hazard with Kagawa?

I still like Bayern's pressing and dominating game though. And about Dortmund I agree, while they attack too much they seem to forgot their defensive responsibility. And I know there will be game where counter attacking is needed such as when playing better teams like Bayern, Madrid, Barca...etc but NOT ALL THE TIME. Look what happen when the players only know how to counter attack. It only works well when opposition want to attack and press themselves which will leave space behind. Since teams just sit back and let us have the ball, it won't work and we will be exposed to counter attack ourselves from them such as Newcastle, West Brom.

So I believe the team should find the right balance, not all out attack or defend but in the middle. Jose only wants defend first and attack 2nd which is not OK imo especially with the players we got. It is not like we got 34 years old Drogba as our forward anymore or Shevchenko who can't run to save his life. We got Schurrle, Hazard, Oscar...etc players who can dominate and attack opposition if the coach instructs them to. But Jose didn't do that, he still wants to use his old way with the current players and it just will not work as we can see. You can't just buy a Fiat and try to drive it like a Ferrari.

Not in terms of quality, but style of play. Kagawa is a classic no 10, Hazard is a winger/inside forward.

Like comparing Ribery and Ozil etc.

have you see Kagawa this season ...not often he can't get off the bench .... 4 games for a Manure with their weakest Midfield I can ever remember

It's because of Rooney though. He was very good at BVB, any other team he will be starting in his favourite position and showing what he can do.

He still does alright whenever i've seen him, and has been getting more chances lately.

Something crossed my mind earlier today when I was reading an article on Ivanovic...

I feel like Mourinho is keeping Lampard, Ivanovic, Terry and Eto'o in the team because he feels like he needs the experience.

While Luiz isn't any kid, he has the eventual brain fart. Our AMs are all young and susceptible to inconsistency and may crack under pressure with the exception of Mata and Willian. Players like Ramires and Cahill while not that young, don't carry any leadership gene in their DNA and while they're hard workers and always put all of their hearts for the team.

So I feel like Ivanovic and Lampard, for example, may play more because José needs some sort of leadership, experience and back up in the team to handle pressure, the unfavorable moments in the matches or matches that aren't easy to find a way out of them.

Out of the whole squad the only guys who are this experienced and can back him up, but also are playing well are Cech, Terry and most recently Eto'o. Maybe José is playing a bit too safe because he doesn't trust the youngsters that much (to take ownership of the match, to take it on their hands to get out of the hole) and he feels they'll crack without the stability those older guys bring...

If that makes sense and that's the case, would the answer be taking some risks with the younger guys and the older guys that lack leadership such as Mikel, Azpili (who isn't even older actually) or should he back the youngsters up? Or would it be better to handle his 'eggs' with as much care and precaution as possible, waiting for them to mature at their own time, providing them a good environment for that with others supporting them even if some of those other players aren't on their best technical form?
