Popular Post! Essien19 1,415 Posted November 3, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted November 3, 2015 OK, so you think there are improvements. Cool, we can opt to disagree and leave it at that. But for the sake of clarity, for I want to understand your POV, let's break things up a little finer here1) Do you admit that Jose has erred (as has the board and the players)?2) If so, what exactly did he do wrong in your view and what is he doing to amend it?3) Don't you think it is an insult to Chelsea fan's intelligence blaming everything/anything but himself?1)Jose made some mistakes, the board too, and yes, some of the players are letting the club down.In relation to the current situation it's difficult to step it up for the players, because a lot of the game takes place in the head.2)First things first, i think Loftus-Cheek could have been handed a lot more playing time during the pre-season.Mourinho tested Moses, he played well, but apparently wasn't good enough. Why didn't he do the same thing with Loftus-Cheek?During these friendlies there are a lot of possibilities up for the taking. Moreover, afterwards one can say, that most likely Moses would have made a bigger impact than Pedro. With all due respect, that's difficult to predict, i must say to cut him some slack. Most Chelsea fans already knew before the season started about the lack of quality in midfield. If you don't trust Loftus-Cheek, it's okay, but then you have to bring another guy in, because Ramires and Mikel can't dictate the play.Maybe therefore Mourinho spoke about the Eiffel-Tower, who know. But you can't expect the board to spend around 100 Mio. on one player. But did the board want to spend money for a midfielder at all?Don't know....Maybe there is a lack of communication between the board and Jose. Why did they buy Baba, when Jose isn't fully convinced of him?For Papy goes the same, he hoped for a big club and there is zero opportunity, clearly Mourinho doesn't rate him.Difficult for a player to convince the coach to let him play, especially when he's not that good or better then the likes of Cahill.Communication is key, Baba wasn't match fit, after Torres they should keep two eyes on that things.Mourinho would have never sold Cech to Arsenal without getting a player in return, there could have been a much better negotiation.Sadly, one can state that Mourinho was wrong with Falcao. Most of the time he is injured and when he is on the pitch, he isn't up for the job anymore. But i would have made the same mistake, because as a third option to have he didn't seem too bad at that time.So i can't throw the first stone.Secondly, there exist problems with the style of play, as clear as crystal.Chelsea can't protect a lead anymore. This weakness runs through Mourinho's second spell.Second leg against Atletico Madrid, we had everything, were one up, but couldn't hold it together.Second leg against PSG, we didn't play beautifully, but we scored twice, we took the lead twice, fucked it up in the end.Against the likes of Man City and other opponents we had the same problems.Furthermore way too often they put it behind because of a corner or free-kick.When it's broken, it ain't easy to fix, but Barca had the same problems, but Enrique found a solution.Mourinho couldn't and therefore we conceded goal after goal, horrible.Additionally, when we attack, we aren't that dangerous anymore with those opportunities, nowadays we prefer to spoil it most of the time. Depressing...In the final third there aren't enough runs and passing opportunities. The ball goes from left to right and right to left. That's clueless and often the opponent can use that to their strengths. That's not completely the fault of Mourinho. because some of the guys have got really bad decision making, even Hazard sometimes holds the ball way too long. Willian is a champion in that competition, it slows the play too much down.A good pass is always faster than a run or dribbling, but no one has the ability for consistently doing that.In my point of view, Fabregas is more of an "accuracy-player", during the good days, he plays a few, but too little. He can't dominate a play, he can't organize and shift the game. But i don't want to be too harsh on Fabregas, because the other guys are much worse. It's slowly getting better, but the guys have to take more shots outside the box.Yesterday Aston scored a goal because of a deflect, that has to happen more often when we play.Coutinho did it against us, that's a dangerous weapon to have.Maybe not taking shots outside the box is a thing of Barcelona, yes Messi does it,but the likes of Iniesta and Xavi are rarely doing it either.Mourinho knows Barcelona and their style of play very well, sometimes some of the combinations remind me of them.In particular the first months of last season were a reminder of their style of play, yes, in an evolved way, but still, the idea is clear to see.You ask me whether i can see a light at the end of the dark tunnel?Yes, because i think Mourinho is on the right path.We have to stay put and stop conceding goals, we're able to put one behind, but clean sheets are the magic word. Therefore we see Mikel more and more frequently in the line-up, that's a good thing, because we're in urgent need of more defensive stability. Zouma offers much better security in the defensive unit, therefore he gets the preference ahead of Baba. The next step is to use a more direct player in the attacking unit, take a good look at Kenedy,he offers much more than Hazard at the present time.In general young guys are getting more and more chances, the time for the untouchables is nearly up.So, i'm confident that Mourinho will get the nod for sorting this mess out.3)Jose already said it: "the fans aren't stupid."We know that there are problems out there, some of them even an outsider could identify and maybe solve. But not all of them, it's "a combination of factors", and that's the difficult task to accomplish. What Jose says and actually means are two different shoes.Furthermore i don't think he's shifting blame. When did Mourinho expose his players to the press? Some guys for example Hazard maybe need a bit of pressure, but when things get tough, he literally eats a bullet for them. Fulham Broadway 17,333
I have to admit, of all the pony we get thrown at us, that one winds me up the most. Back up here in my beloved hometown of Glasgow, you just need to mention that your Chels and out it comes "You were nothing without that Russian cunt, blah, blah, fucking blah". So many fucking times have I had to 'interject' with "when you say 'nothing', by that I take it that you are discounting two FA Cups, Two League Cups, One ECWC, One Super Cup, repeated European campaigns and four points from the title in 99' (Cheers Doobs)?"Now Citeh, that's another case altogether. Anyway, I digress. On reflection, Jose should ride it out, Roman should back him, even if it means relegation. The older ones amongst us with recall many seasons of yo-yo'ing between the top two divisions and (almost) a spell in the 3rd, so lets try to stay positive. Should be get relegated, we will lose thousands of tourists (not the worst thing I can think of) and...........should Millwall get promoted............tribal I know, but old habits and all that.I know mate, get the same, not much now of "what ya gonna do when the Russian gets bored?" (Circa 2004), but "its easy to support a winning team".I cant be bothered to mention same as you, that we were there in the dark days, 70s, 80s90s, fuck em.Good to have you back young man, stick around with your valuable insights Muzchap, iceboy, Changingman_2000 and 1 other

Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted November 3, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted November 3, 2015 I just can´t believe right before a decisive UCL match, the club sitting 3rd in a 4 teams group, the talk at the press conferece are about Savage and Mourinho's career. British press love to turn football into a mexican soap opera. Even the talk about Mourinho's bad run is nonsensical, just remember months ago they were saying this very limited team was favorite to win PL again, and there is few to zero talk about Mourinho´s tactics and the teams problems. All they can do is show Hazard's goals and assistis stats, to point some "some individuals" bad performances as one of the reasons behind the poor run, and say the defense is not as solid as it used to be, and of course, Eva Carneiro and silly press controversies, because, you know, those things have a big impact in football and will explain a team going from easily winning te league to 15th place in the table. There is no talk about the reasons behind the defensive problems (perhaps Terry and Cahill are just not good enough), no talk about Mourinho always using the same old 4-2-3-1 against all sides, nothing at all.The talk can´t be football, but always human relationships. Mourinho against Wenger, Mourinho against Hazard, Mourinho against Eva, Mourinho against some misterious player, Terry against Savage. At the moment we even have people evaluating the quality of the press conference. The team officially became a non football one, it seems.
