The Mourinho Thread

I think he could be more jealous about how much Robbie is liked by the supporters - but not because of a title.

For a while his name was sang at the 16th minute, he's been missed by most - even if the same people admit he's tactically poor

I would believe José is jealous of that, but jealous of him winning the UCL instead of him? No way... his chances are there and the first title is no different than la decima, for example.

If there's jealousy, I'd believe it'd be of how much Roberto is loved by us.

Yes, but that is largely because of the UCL win. If he is jealous, then it definitely wouldn't be of the trophy itself but the fact that Robbie was the first to give it to us with all the affection and love that has brought him from the Chelsea fans.

Mourinho has two UCL titles and we were clearly robbed in our of our runs under him. I don't see any reason why he could be annoyed. He seems not like him much. It's very simple to me. I can't say one manager in the world Mourinho would be out by out of jealousy...

True but we all know how much the Champions League means to Mourinho and when you're very competitive and loves something strongly (e.g the club), you're bound to get irritated when someone else, especially if that someone isn't as good as you, did something that you couldn't in such a short space of time. Mourinho suggested that RDM got lucky in leading us to the Champions League (which isn't entirely wrong but not that we care), perhaps he's even annoyed that he had the luck, while he himself didn't when he was here to do something historic.

yeah, while that may be the reason many love him - I love Robbie simply because of who he is. He's a lovely person tbh, although ofc I love the fact he gave us the fact too - it can't be labeled the reason why Jose is supposedly jealous of him.

I believe Jose could be jealous of the affection Robbie has - especially when you think how bad of a manager he is (I love Robbie, but he's a farce as a manager, he's a really bad one imo and I think it was the players, after being so close to win, more than anyone else who won that UCL. Robbie couldn't have much to do with it when we finished 6th in the league and played some horrible, poor football.

Again, I'm not sure he's jealous, I just think he doesn't like him as a manager... if there's one thing people like Mourinho doesn't like is people bad in what they do.

Jose never dislike anyone from a professional standpoint for no reason. Rafa (for obvious reasons), Pep (He was denied the barca job because of him and was his biggest and main rival in spain) Pelegrini( Jose hated him because he secceeded him at madrid and the comparisons which were drawn by the media infuriated him) Mancini (Jose, again like Pellegrini, took over from him and the media compared their achievements at inter when Jose had a disappointing champions league campaign in his first season there), Wenger (The reigning manager in the epl before jose took over and their rivalry between 2004-07 has been reignited with his return to the league).

What's the common denominator here? These managers have all either been very successful and seen as rivals or were succeeded by Jose.

How many unsuccesful/irrelevant managers and/or managers with no ties to the club he has managed does he hate. There's a clear and undeniable pattern here. How come he doesn't hate Ruud Gullit or Glen Hoddle or Vialli, perhaps because they didn't win the trophy that he has been unable to win at Chelsea and therefore as no reason to be insecure towards them.

Ferguson was the only exception here because he's always respected him depsite being a hugely successful rival manager.

Yes, with Robbie in this case, it might have 'a little bit' emotional from Jose's point, but I don't think it is a 'jealous' one, more like a 'rival' one factor, because he is manages Schalke (his opposition) and the emotional part, because it is in CL stage. If Robbie not a Schalke manager, and someone asked him any question about Robbie to Jose, I don't think he has any bad words for him. I always think Jose is a true professional here, in press conference before and after match he may think every next opponent like a real enemy of him, the bad guy, attacking and confusing them with mind games, etc, leave alone in stadium.

This also applied to the cases of all the manager names you mentioned. He will think all of them as rival enemy from the same league they competing, especially if they will clash each other in a match. Usually Jose will not comment about other manager, if they are not his next opponent in match though. He will react though, if other manager have a bad words first, for example in Wenger comment first, before Jose described him as a 'specialist in failure'. But hey, you know what, even if we all think they don't like each other, in this Wenger case for example, I've read somewhere both have a good relationship, when Jose not managing Chelsea period. And I'm sure I've read Jose said something about, you will be easier to talk with other manager if you're currently not competing in the same league.

So as much as we think he hate Rafa for example, I don't think we will see Jose out of nowhere said some bad words for him, with exception of course if they meet each other in one competition or Rafa have some bad comment about him or Chelsea. In conclusion, I think it is more like a 'rival' one, I am almost certain it is not a 'jealous' thing.

Or maybe he doesn't hate him at all and people are just playing amateur psychologist too much?

Pretty much this, I wager it must be annoying to constantly be questioned about other professionals by people clearly trying to stir shit which is why he may come across as being annoyed. This Mourhino hates RDM nonsense is just that nonsense.

They say a great manager is good for 10 to15 pts gained each season, I'd say Jose is good for 20 this year! No other club in the prem have a manager capable of winning matches with their presence and tactics

I do think José doesn't like di Matteo much... but he has a chance to match his accomplishment now that he's back at the club, that's what makes it so hard for me to believe he's annoyed by Roberto winning what he didn't with Chelsea...

He took some jabs on RdM and FSW, but I've never seen a bad word about King Carlo....

Agreed I think Jose is annoyed Roberto won it with HIS core of players if that makes sense.

Credit to robbie though, he got us over the finishing lines for those games along with the players, team, not an invidiual.

Jose usually chose to jab Chelsea instead of carlo whilst carlo was here. I don't think he has said anything recently because of the chance we will most likely draw them this year due to the football we are playing and he would not want to potentially face a reporter question if we lost about his jabs toward carlo haha.

Actually I meant regarding his work at real Madrid and winning la decima

Thats what I was referring to :) doesn't want to make any comments due to the fact it might come back on him if we face them.

I still think he loves inter more :'( <\3

His family live in London and continued to live in London when he was in italy, must have been lonely. Being at Chelsea means he's closer to them, so he could only ever have love for Chelsea.

Also, Chelsea fans get confused when they hear Mourinho saying the best moment of his career was winning the CL with Inter, that doesn't mean the same applies to the club itself.

Sorry, that's all sorts of wrong. Firstly, his family lived in Milano and his children attended school there, same as they did in Madrid. There are enough articles, photos etc to prove it.

And secondly, I very much doubt that London, great sity that it is, is a reason to love football club.

He spoke in interviews about how hard it was on them, 'leaving London' and their friends/schools, and now he wants stability 'for them'; hence why Mourinho constantly traveled back to London during his spells in italy & spain. I read an article saying how his kids were going back for their exams, so clearly it wasn't as clear cut as staying there.. but the point remains.
