Why was the 2012-2013 team worse?

We still had Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Juan Mata. Rest of the team was pretty similar, we already had Hazard and Oscar. Just Willian, Matic and Costa missing.

Maybe Mata/Lamps is why we don't control the game anymore.

What I'm saying is, it was a deserved red card, so what's the point in appealing. This is why I sometimes flat out despise the club's philosophy, making it seem as though we truly believe that there's a campaign against us and we're the victims all of the time. It's silly and embarrassing.

You say that but some of the decisions that were on the receiving end of are very hard to take.

If Courtois' challenge on Bafetimbi Gomis was worthy of a red card as you say, that horrible challenge by David Ospina on Oscar in the penalty area against Arsenal last year should of also resulted in a red card as well.

This inconsistency is what makes these decisions so very hard to just sit back and accept.

What is proper football? There's so many different teams and so many different styles of play, there isn't a proper way to play. I'd say we play proper football, because we won the title last year.

There a various styles of football... longball, Boring ticka tacka Barca style, counter attacking style etc... it's what ever your team is best at to get the disired result. IMHO i prefered the pre christmas style of football than the post Tottenham style ... but in the end we won the premier league so im happy.

I would have preferred that the so called best manager in the world to grow some balls and actually play proper football. Haven't watched a good Chelsea game since we beat Swansea.

I think everyone preferred watching pre-Christmas Chelsea. It's what got us to the top of the table, but it wasn't going to keep us there for the whole of the season. There's a reason Arsenal haven't won the title in years, and it's not from the lack of talent.

These players are paid over 200K a fookin week kicking a ball around and supporters trying to get by on a 30K / year salary investing every cent and minute of their time in the club, are "ungrateful cunts" for asking pretty please to show us some better football?

Lets be honest, Chelsea's success has come playing as a more solid team with great defensive structure and shape than attacking instincts. I don't care how we play, we are successful playing a certain way and I'm proud of that to be fair. We as fans should support our team no matter how they play, not complain and not ask for prettier football... or prefer pretty football to trophies when we have built success playing our way.

I would prefer to set every goal, goal difference and point record while winning the quadruple, but that's just not going to happen. Not with these players, not with this manager and not in this league. There's too many good teams. Since it's not going to happen, I want this team to play the way that gives them the best chance to win titles.

Open, free play may be entertaining but if we get smashed 5-2 by City by playing that way, I'll take 1-0 or 0-0 any day.

If you look at these two teams, City haven't done as much in this transfer window. They've got Sterling who could be a threat, but they've got the same establishment that we've got. It's not like Matic, Hazard, Fabregas & co have regressed as much as it appears.

It'll be an ugly match because Chelsea will go there with the intention to keep the match subdued and slow as possible, but we're hardly going to get demolished. These are still world-class players.
