Tomo 21,751
What would make you consider a "youth success" for the season? Would just RLC integrated with 20 or so games (subs or otherwise) be enough? Or would you want a couple more to get a step closer? Personally for me, the former would be more than enough (even if half of them were off the bench when the game was safe) anything else would be a bonus but it would be interesting to hear other views on this subject. coolhead23 1,147
RLC and Bamford r part of the 25 .... they should get like 10% starts and good number of subs (based on their performance) ... And display a few more youngsters on dead rubbers. If we can atleast do this ... It should be a success for me because we didnt really give any youth a chance baring the last 2-3 games which was also bits and pieces. This will send out strong signals for everyone to perform and give out everything while on loan which can warranty them a chance in the first team if they have the level we want.... Vybz Kartel 1,613
Well from what I have seen mourinho does not rate any youth who are not at least 6 foot and big physically. That's probably the reason rlc was promoted same as traore, now Moses, even Clark Salter and Aina are physically imposing that's why they are going on tour. If messi was in our youth set up does anyone here honestly believe he would be playing for the 1st team or at least on the fringes of the team like he was at Barca ? Shakez 755
Buy em, loan em, sell them for profit! A good way to avoid FFP restrictions. Unless you are ofcourse a defender, a 6 ft+ midfielder, you are not going to get any chances under Mourinho before going on loan.
BlueLyon 9,359
If Mou gives RLC same amount of playtime or even 2/3rds of it like he did to Zouma, I will call it a success. To have finaly one youth product, english on top to break through with good year like Zouma had last year would be amazing.Dont think any other youth has serious chances, maybe couple will get last 5min intro to PL but thats that.Ake will go on loan probably or used like last season, while I dont consider Traore youth player, however he has decent chance too, unless we bring more AMs.
Chelsea_firstlove 178
Do "a Matic". Sell them now and pay 30m+ for them next 3, 4 years. At least they will be respect and have a fair chance.

Unofficially because of the restrictions imposed by FIFA rules and UK work permit regulations. If that understanding is correct then I'd say Chelsea have had a role in his development and could therefore see him, at least partially, as their youth product. I agree though that he is not 100% a Chelsea production, like RLC.

MrBlueGuy 1,552
A self obsessed thing that should be happening naturally, but rather on its way to harming the club's future ambitions. The day we start signing only 'potential' players like Liverpool and Arsenal now and before is the day our reign at the top is over. The likes of Hazard, Costa...etc won't ever happen again because as soon as the bidding get big we will just 'back out' like we are gonna do with Pogba now and instead start turning to young Brazilian midfielders from some unknown team in Brazil in hope is unearthing the next Pogba there.Imagine when someone like Benzema becomes available in a couple of years for 40m and demands 200k per week, but we back out and instead looking for the next Benzema instead. Get over yourself.
