zolayes 14,489
If his contract runs out in 2015, at least we can get a considerable amount of money for himonly from a club as stupid as ours
capriccioso 2,545
What is most concerning is his mental attitude. He just doesn't seem to care anymore. If he played with 100% passion like he did before he would still be a decent player.

He still has the opportunity to earn mad cash somewhere in Arabia, China or USA for many years. Wouldn't be surprised if he went back to France, surely somebody would take him so he would have no reason to end his career.
capriccioso 2,545
Manpe's right, if he didn't care he'd be angling for a move to Asia. Perhaps join Anelka on 300k a week at Shenhua.
Krypt 241
I see Essien as the type of guy who wants to play for football , maybe im being deluded. Its a shame we wouldn't have even contemplated loosing Essien a couple of years back.
KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
He should go. Unfortunately, he offers us nothing. He is not the strong DM he was and he can no longer make the runs he used to. We have better players than Essien. Romeu should take his place and play alot more. We haven't really missed Essien which shows us his time is up. If he played with 100% passion like he did before he would still be a decent player.I'm not sure that's the case. Like Ramires, his entire game is based on his energy and dynamism. Its now (understandably) very hard for him to replicate that. Essien has always been a fighter, but his will seems to have been sapped. capriccioso and Blue Armour
LDN Blue 7,903
The problem is, any club who has watched Essien in the last 2 seasons will realise he's crock. Not only that, but they'll realise he did sign a new contract and won't pay anything near what Chelsea would seek.
capriccioso 2,545
Well. No sooner do we write him off and he produces a fairly good performance against Blackburn. Perhaps there is hope for him after all.

coolhead23 1,147
As much as i like Essien but the last 2 months he has been nothing but poor. I mean the grit and determination which use to be there on the field has kinda of gone, u can find him smiling and being casual in his approach (thats what i feel off late) every game hence i guess it is time that we let him go.
