I hope I've posted this in the correct area, but if not I ask the moderator(s) to please place it correctly within the transfer section (because it gets the traffic and interest of most people visiting the forum and Bentekkers is a current rumoured target).

The only question I did not post is one on match fitness. I think the two are almost equal on being fit or potentially fit in the future although we know Diego doesn't take the risk of contesting balls in the air nearly as much, so maybe he will be hurt less.

Benteke, if he stays at some decent club and develops, could be one of serious targets for our future first choice striker, but right I would pick Costa any day of the week.

Benteke puts himself about a bit as well ...all arms and elbows near defenders.

Nowhere near the standard of Costa with guile, runs and finishing.

Mind you, remember when Drogba first came....he was all over the place and pretty awful to watch for a couple of years and both of these play at a better allround standard than he did back then

Very shocking results in the technical category. Benteke has great technique for his size and is very fun to watch. Comfortably a better player than Costa in terms of technique.

Overall, Costa is the better striker but I'll gladly take in Benteke as well.

Well Diego is a bit of a naughty boy isn't he, you know with all his 'In your face' stuff and how he likes intimidate defenders. I don't think the two can be compared because Benteke is such a lovely lad, does nothing wrong and is very quiet.

Diego can be a tough opponent, but in reality he's not as strong as he wish he was and he's not what I would call "intimidating." Drogba was an intimidating prospect to defend; Diego is not.

If I myself were defending Diego, I wouldn't be worried about being overpowered by him; but the dirty stuff: clawing, eye-raking, spitting, etc. would be cause for self-restraint (not K.O.ing him with a right hook). So, yeah, maybe that's an alternate version of "intimidating."

Benteke holdup ability is a lot better than Costa. However, his tenacity is something no one on the squad has except Cesc and Ramires, but Cesc is slow and ramires doesn't start.

However, I still choose Costa over Benteke NOW..

Costa is better atm but Benteke has the potential to be an unstoppable beast like Drogba was at his peak. Unless we play 2 upfront we cant have both in our squad unless compromises are made...
